Snapshot 1.0.257.3 - Visual tab cycler and better cookie management.
-
Hi y'all! Snapshot 1.0.257.3 is out! Today's snapshot includes our initial version of a visual tab cycler and better cookie management. The Tab Cycler: When cycling through many tabs using the keyboard (Ctrl+Tab), it can be tricky to know which tab will appear next. Particularly so, when cycling in recently used order—Vivaldi's default setting. A tab cycler solves that problem by displaying the list of tabs in the same order and giving your extra visual clues such as page title and a thumbnail. Included is our initial implementation. To enable it, open “Settings (Preferences on Mac)” and navigate to “Tabs → Tab Cycling → Cycle Tabs Visually”. https://vivaldi.net/en-US/blogs/teamblog/item/48-snapshot-1-0-257-3-visual-tab-cycler-and-better-cookie-management //Christian - Vivaldi Technologies

Thanks.
Here is a screenshot of the Visual tab cycler from my machine. Is it correct?

EDIT:
How about the Opera 12.17 implementation:
…or some kind of cover flow presentation:

You can access the Vivaldi extensions screen by type in vivaldi://extensions in the URL bar (without <>). As for getting the Flash player to work, I suggest trying the flash installer from Adobe's website. Using Flash right now, however, would be unwise considering how many major security exploits are in the wild at present. Unless Flash is a mission critical program for you, I would recommend using HTML5 for all your video needs on the internet.

@JialeLeong:
how do i enable flash player on this snapshots, sorry about this issue as i'm day 1 of vivaldi user
See this thread.
You can download Adobe Flash from here.
And you can manage plugins like Flash Player from vivaldi://plugins

Enabling the visual tab cycler seems to disable the "hold right mouse button + scroll to cycle tab" shortcut.

That's fixed on 258, just upgrade to it.

Tab cycler thingee is neat, it would be nice if you could bring it up, and mouse select and/or keyboard select with it. I do notice that pressing "left" while ctrl-tab is down does seem to result in the current page doing a "Back" though.
Might be even neater with a nifty webOS style (iOS 8/9 style for those more familiar with that ripoff of webOS's view ) card-view, because if you get a good number of tabs going, it's a pretty large display.
Thanks for fixing the right/left tabs!!!! Vivaldi is again my favorite.

Flash is more than a video player and with H.264 and VP8 support still missing in Vivaldi, HTML5 video support is almost non-existent in Vivaldi.

Vivaldi 1.0.258.3 (Developer Build) (32-bit)
BUG: middle mouse click on speed dial switches to the new open tab. -
How can I turn on extensions? some o them are not always on and I have to turn them every time I start the browser? Any ideas why? and the next thing, in Opera when I click on the speed dial site with scrolling wheel button the site is open in new tab in background why it is not working in Vivaldi?

Hello,
I'm new to the Vivaldi forum, but I've been using this browser for a few weeks(32-bit version for 64-bit Windows 10) and I absolutely love it!
I kept the settings for the tab cycling, made it so that I could cycle to the last tab selected instead of in the tab order. What I also did was set previous and next tab in the keyboard settings(in tab order) to alt A and alt S, so I can do both cycling to the last tab used and between the tab order.
I find it very easy to use and alt A and alt S are very simple ways of navigating between tabs.

how about some focus on more important stuff, like html 5 vids and the mail client before implementing those toys like the visual tabs??
