Edit pdf

I want you to add a feature similar to edge/ edge chromium that allow us to edit a pdf file, by writing over, erasing, insert text, etc.

@Andromath I buy a PDF solution from a small German company (SoftMaker) which has a much larger development team than Vivaldi - and it took them over five years to arrive at a credible PDF solution, working on it basically full time (and it's still resource-hungry and imperfect). It would, I fear, be completely unreasonable, as @Gwen-Dragon suggests, to expect a tiny browser company to come up with a similar solution. That would not be in the cards at present.
-
@Andromath Try PDF Exchange Editor from tracker if you're using Windows.
The free versionIt can do all that you need and more. -
@Pesala Yeah, not really. Tracker's PDF Editor does not allow clean editing. You have to buy a license or put up with a glaring, obstructive "watermark" on the work product. It does have a typewriter feature with no license, which I use liberally, but which does not actually edit the PDF as such. It's for these kinds of reasons that I bought the SoftMaker solution. It really is a complete solution, that allows comprehensive editing.

I have found that for simple PDF files it is enough to right click them once downloaded and open them in a word processor, most will be able to convert them. (Word and Libreoffice both work)
For more complex PDFs editing them in any program would be a pain.

When I abandoned Adobe about 10 years ago I moved to Foxit PDF reader. Was always lighter and faster than Adobe and have been using it ever since. Many features also if you want to pay.
Also there is a version for Android (not my Android) so I had to find an APK. Works fine and ESET scanned the APK as clean.
P.S.
I have no affiliation with Foxit, It is just a product I find works well and am happy to recommend . -
yes ofc we NEED IT THAT FEATURE
-
@keiraguk Did you read through the thread? It's not going to happen. PDF editing is best left to apps specifically designed for such a task. Embedding it into a browser is an enormous task for which Vivaldi does not have the resources.
-
Why can't this useless browser perform cardiothoracic surgery, nor unpack my dishwasher & do my nail-polish? Sheesh, i wanna refund.
-
-
@keiraguk Another viable solution for editing PDF files is Serif PagePlus X9 if you can find a legitimate copy, or Affinity Publisher for about $50.
Some PDF files may not import properly, the content may be protected, or the application may not support all features. More than 90% in my experience can be opened and edited OK.

I read somewhere that Edge open epub book files. I want Vivaldi in the next update do the same.
PD. I am forgetting. While in Break mode I want Vivaldi read aloud for me.
-
@Gwen-Dragon If this browser was halfway decent it would already raise the request automatically, all by itself. :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:
-
@Steffie If this browser was decent, it would magically solve issues by itself.
-
@hlehyaric Absolutely right!
I certainly cannot envisage any possible downside from letting software become self-aware & fully-automated...
-
Just make sure that when it's evaluating the potential options to take, "becoming Skynet" is always the worst option
-
@Crimsonshade Ultron should be very low on the list of options as well
-
@BoneTone It's all fine - we can simply block their 1st & 3rd party scripts with uM.
Spoiler
-
@Steffie "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that."
