"Your current browser configuration is blocking..."
Came in here to see if anyone else is having this problem, haven't seen a single post. I can't open the Evernote web client anymore because I get this message. Also, random other pages, including Messages for Web, won't display. It started happening just yesterday, so I assume it's related to the latest Vivaldi update? Anyone else encountering this? I'm using Linux Mint, although I don't get the feeling it's related to the OS in any way.

@Emmalfal Hello, Evernote seems to work fine for me here on Windows 10. Please give more information on how to reproduce this issue, when it occurs and so on. A screenshot would help.
It's very rare website issues are OS-related. Most likely it's something in your Vivaldi profile, like an extension or a setting causing this.
The last version of Vivaldi was released last Thursday. Did you only update yesterday?

@Pathduck If I recall, I updated over the weekend, so the timing is there. A reboot of my computer fixes the problem, but only until the next time the browser is restarted. I have tried disabling extensions and I turned off my ad blocker. No change. I tried shutting off hardware acceleration with no effect. Cleared browsing history, but no change. I'll work on screenshots. Basically I get the message from Evernote, while other pages just go white. Problem isn't present in other browsers. Thanks for the help.

The Evernote page offers me the option of using the older version of Evernote Web Client. The older version does work. Maybe this more an issue for the Evernote forums? I posted here because Vivaldi is the only browser affected and also it's my browser of choice.

@Emmalfal What about cookies, are you blocking third-party?`
Have you tried clearing cache for Evernote? To only clear for the domain, press F12 for Devtools, go to the Application tab (might be hidden behind the >> on top), select Clear storage, then Clear site data.
After disabling extensions, a browser restart might be needed to fully clear everything.
Try in a completely clean profile like the guide says. Or you could launch with the argument:
--user-data-dir=$TMP/vivaldi
(after closing all other Vivaldi windows) -

I don't see any big deal here. For me it's simply routine to need to tweak settings when i encounter new [to me] websites, & also sometimes revise previous tweaks when older website devs make changes. So if i encounter a troublesome page i begin with tweaking my uMatrix settings, then if that does not resolve it i sequentially drop back V's Blocker from its global default of trackers & ads, to trackers, to off. Just yesterday when i did my periodic grocery shopping at Woolworths [not the US or South African ones; same name but different company in Oz] i found that they'd made some site changes since last time, such that important parts of the page simply would not work at all until i completely turned V's blocker off.

@Emmalfal Did you test in the
$TMP
profile? It was only meant to be used for checking if a clean profile worked, not for permanent usage. And if you then launch as regular it will still use your old profile so make sure you know what profile you're using and that you're not actually using the old "broken" one.When you create a new profile, it will use the last one open when launching.
Did you try cleaning all data from Evernote?
It would also be good to know the full error message you're seeing. "Your current browser configuration is blocking..." Blocking what?

@Pathduck I did clear the EN data through developer options. Nothing changed. The full message is "Your current browser configuration is blocking Evernote from opening. PLease check your browser settings or try a different browser to enjoy the latest Evernote Web experience. To use the older version without the newer updates, continue below." And Vivaldi WILL work with that older version, but it's terrible version so I don't consider that an option. The new profile definitely allowed me to open Evernote when it was first created.

I've tried a whole bunch of things, but this problem persists. If I reboot my machine, Vivaldi will work for as long as I keep the browser open. It seems like there must be a clue in that, but dang if I can figure out what it is.

How bizarre. I've been using Evernote in Vivaldi on various versions of Ubuntu for years and haven't ever run into this one. It looks like Vivaldi isn't the only Blink-based browser seeing the error, though:
That makes me think there's something going on, but not in your browser or browser profile--maybe in Evernote itself?

@terminalmancer Yeah. It's hard to know if I should be trawling the Vivaldi forums or the Evernote forums for clues. Seems like I've exhausted all the troubleshooting steps available in the browser. Of course, none of this would matter if Evernote would come out with that desktop client for Linux they hinted at earlier in the year.

For what it's worth, today I popped open Vivaldi and Evernote web was working fine. I have no idea what fixed it. There have been no Vivaldi updates in the past day or so, so I suppose it must have been on the EN end of things.
