Some web pages are greyed out
-
Hello,
some pages where I have to enter content for login, registration or just data transfer are greyed out and I cannot enter any data. With MS edge I don't face this issue. I have tried to clean the browser history, adjust web site settings and adjust security and add blocking settings. Non did work.
Can anybody help here?
Thanks and regards, Marek

@Pingponguin Hello, and Welcome to the Vivaldi Community
First, it would help with an example of such a site where you get this behaviour.
Secondly, this looks like something an extension could do. Please go through the steps in the troubleshooting guide:

If I go to https://onlineservice.esm-selb.de/powercommerce/sm/action/flightteaser;jsessionid=5694CE05F35A26E7B82B464173CB179E?gap=5107 (which is kinda the site you show in the screenshot?) the webpage is greyed out for me as well. But I also get a message popping up asking about cookies. Once I accept the cookies the grey fades out again, so it seems to be the website which does this and not Vivaldi.
So one possibility is that you are using an ad blocker or extension that blocks cookie popup messages. ESM still greys out the screen, but you don't see the cookie popup that you need to respond to for the grey cover to go away.

I've seen the exact behavior @Komposten describes, the site dims the page, but the popup content is blocked.

@Pathduck
@Komposten
@BoneTone
@Gwen-DragonThank you for your answers.
Sorry that I forgot to add the link to the web page.
Komposten got it right , nevertheless.
That was my idea too, that it is an issue with some kind of add blocking, but I couldn't figure out which one or the corresponding settings in vivaldi. I will start with a plain installation and try to figure it out from there.Well, that resolved quick now. The issue was caused by the add on "I don't care about cookies". I just didn't have it on my mind (so far it is working the way it is supposed to) and I didn't expect the add on just to suppress the cookie message (that is bad if the web page is depending on an answer) .
Again, thank you very much for your support.

@Gwen-Dragon
I just figured out what the issue was caused by. Please see above in my previous answer.

uBlock Origin with the right lists enabled, like EasyList Cookie List, it's enough to block also those annoying cookie consent popups, among other annoyances, no need for another extension just for that.

@iAN-CooG furthermore, the logger in UBO makes it easy to see what has been blocked and "unbreak" websites; you can create custom filters from within the logger itself.
The added bonus is that by not installing additional redundant extensions, your fingerprint is less unique -- an important consideration for mitigating tracking.
