Solved Google's voice services (search, docs, translate) not working in Vivaldi

Any new info on when the google voice search function will be available?

Searching the forum I found complaints about this going back a few years?
Also comments that it was being fixed, however, that was about 6 months ago or longer?
This is getting to be a deal breaker for me, therefore, I must ask, is it ever going to be fixed please and if so, when?

If this refers to a built in capability to use voice, Vivaldi won't ever do that as it would require an agreement to use Google voice services.
If this is a feature built in to the Google search and translate Web pages, it should be possible. If it doesn't work, then that is a bug.

I guesss this is not yet working as I try it everytime a new update of Vivaldi is issued and I still get the No Internet connection message. I believe this is not a bug, but another sign that Google is Pissed that people would want to build a browser better than there all powerful Chrome piece of S### (Sorry, but this seems wrong to me). I noticed tthat in the new Edge browser built from Chromium that the voice search seams like it wanted to work (like it heard your voice), but returns no results. So with that browsser I get a bit further, but still no good results. Maybe this is Google way of saying to all involved that there browser is the only one going to use this stuff. Again I say that is wrong and is Piss Poor on Googles behalf. (Again sorry for the strong language).

I think it's a Google Chrome only feature that no other browser is allowed to have, or the loyalties are too high. The only alternatives I could think would be to use a virtual keyboard where you click the keyboard keys with the mouse or to use the "online speech recognition" provided in Windows 10, it works when you select a search field and speak.

Hello guys, I can't use my microphone to dictate at google documents although I have given the permission to use microphone! the icon turns red but nothing happens.

Good news: Google Voice works since a few days on all builds.
It seems that Google enabled some permission that allows Vivaldi users to use it. In case it still doesn't work for you, let us know about it and please share which service is failing for you. -
Starting on 6/17/2020 Google voice search is no longer working again. When clicking the microphone all you get is "No Internet Connection"

I'm getting the same thing. Can this be corrected?
I just started using Vivaldi about a month ago. This will be interesting to see how long this takes to correct especially since this has happened before.

Isn't there even an extension that can be used for voice searches?

@sahands Some user may know of such a thing, but Vivaldi does not track, evaluate or recommend extensions. You should know that processing for voice search is done on Google servers, not in your browser, in an extension or on your device. It requires a staggering amount of processing power to process voice search.
That said, I don't know how an extension could provide this function. It would still need to access Google servers, as all such queries do and if you don't fund those servers (as you would by, for instance, using Chrome, or using an Android device paying a service provider who in turn pays Google), you can't use them.

Just tried it with the very latest build and unfort it's still not working. I've been scanning this issue for a while now, and I understand about the key issue. It would be good to know if this is indeed still the case. I'm on the desktop browser version.

@Gwen-Dragon On a new Google Doc, I want to make use of voice typing in Greek. Although it exists as a feature, I open it and try to speak with my mic on. But it doesn't write anything, although it seems to record. Can I do something about that?
