I have been using Vivaldi for a while and I think it is a great product.However,there is one thing that annoys me a lot. For example, when I open link in a new tab it automatically goes to the new tab. It is frustrating since I would like to open several links in new tabs without opening them immediately. It slows down browsing and productivity. Please fix this annoying issue and make vivaldi to open links in new tabs without automatically going to the opened link. Thanks

Until we have a setting for changing default behavior, you can open new links in background either by middle-clicking them or by pressing Ctrl while clicking.

With this extension, Right Click Opens Link in New Tab,

you can even set it so that the right click opens a background tab. (You have a choice, background tab for the right click, or foreground). It's in the settings for the extension. Some people don't like to middle click. If you hold the right click a bit longer, you can get your context menu. -

GeoffFranJust go to the chrome store and find the extension and click on "add to chrome." Sometimes you may have to close the page and reopen it, click on the Google+ button or sign in to Google, but most of the time it just treats you like you were using a chrome browser.
Then you can administer extensions at vivaldi://extensions . Extension support is quite incomplete, and no extension buttons can be seen or used, etc., but many of them install and just work.

If possible, I'd like to have both options, open in new tab and open in background tab available on right click. I can use Ctrl + click but this means using both hands for something that can be done with only one hand in Opera.

When reading e.g. a newspaper online, the ability to "open link in background tab" while you are browsing through the front page is a truly powerful feature. Why not simply include "Open in background tab" on the right-click menu?
The "middle mouse" click for this feature is also good, but doesn't work well on all computers/mice/touchpads.

I hate the middle-click, because I always start to click and scroll at the same time.

If you have a logitech mouse the culprit is the driver, not the wheel itself.
Just disable the smooth scrolling inside the setpoint settings (and , if you can't live w/o it, use a browser extension to get it back).
You can also use a different button as middle click, say tilt wheel left
And finally you can use a third part utility (xmouse button, autohotkey) to emulate the middle click in some way, say left+right=middle, or long press left =middle
Remember that middle button is good because it's almost universal nowadays.
