[Bug] Native notification does not work [on Standalone|Current User]
-
modedit split from https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/24284/native-os-desktop-notifications/
//EDIT #2
See newer post. The first part is about chrome (which I don't care)@Gwen-Dragon I still see the chromium white notification on stable (2.11.1811.52) and
chrome://flags/#enable-native-notifications
is on.
This also happen on Chrome Portable (80.0.3987.149).
[Due low disk space on C:\ drive] -
@Gwen-Dragon Can you tell me where is supposed to be?
I see the notification_helper.exe in chrome folder but didn't find it in the registry. -
@Gwen-Dragon I see where the issue is now.
The paths are the same but the function don't work as I use chrome portable from PortableApps.
(I had to remove chrome from C:\ drive and the installer don't allow custom paths so I was forced to adopt the portable one). -
Forget the previous posts (which are about chrome portable).
It seems web notifcation still don't work on my Vivaldi (3.0 RC3).
I finally took the windows 1909 update (18363.720) but still see the chromium notifications. -
@Gwen-Dragon Tnx, so even the RC3 is affected?
Well, I'll see it fixed in next one I'l take.
(Actually I don't usually need native notifications but is nice to see them working). -
Nope. Still don't work here.
But I don't see Vivaldi at all in windows 10 action center, so some association must be lost. (Even the stable is standalone). -
@Gwen-Dragon Is installed as standalone (c:\portables\vivaldi stable)
(even if is not really portable)
On parents PC it works. But yeah, is probably installed as all users there.
Guess is not compatible yet with standalone installs but I'm quite sure it used to work for a while. -
@Gwen-Dragon Ok then. Made a request too.
