@Daladdine Sadly, it seems the author stopped to work on it.

Arf, and what about downalbum ? It doesn't work at all. Could you please add it to the list? And for Save image Router replacement, the author on github said to try save-in But you said that on your first post :
Save in... extensions: They rarely works fine (or are annoying to configure). This also because the chromium api for such tasks is flaky.
What does that mean exactly? It's gonna be fixed still at some point but it will take time? or that we can assume that's probably not going to happen?
If you have a Save in... equivalent that works on vivaldi in the meantime, i'm opened to an alternative.
-
@Daladdine Downalbum seems to be broken in chromium too looking at the recent reviews.
Save in seems to be working.

Chromium - Vivaldi is also based on it - is a bit strict on download paths: you can choose only one and additional paths (with the extension) must be inside the default folder otherwise it will need symlinks
Or you can do a request for "Save in... function".

Yes, i know. But we can always find a work around by creating subfolders in the default download path. It has always worked wonders for me, even though it's a bit restrictive indeed. If it would be possible to fix at least one "Save in" like extension for Vivaldi, I could work with it (Save In⦠original extension seems to be popular enough, even if didn't try it yet).
EDIT : Nevermind, you did say Save in is working. I don't see the icon, on extensions bar, but it appears in context menu. Visual bug then i guess. I still have to learn how to use this extension though, and check if everything works fine indeed. Also, downalbum seems to work fine for me. The only complaints i see on the reviews are from 2018 where apparently it didn't work for awhile but all the recent reviews say it work great for them. Would be nice to do something about this extension if possible, especially how popular this one is.
And yes, a Save in... equivalent in Vivaldi (again, even with the download path restrictions from Chromium) would be amazing indeed. Like for every extensions i didn't have to download again when switching to Vivaldi. I'll note the idea that for a request later. Thanks.

@Daladdine I tested downalbum only in FB - with the beta dark UI interface - so I guess was not working for that reason.
However it also exists in form of Tampermonkey Userscript which could bypass the issue -
@Hadden89 Oh thanks. i'm gonna try that. If it exactly the same, and it's relatively easy to use, i wouldn't mind using Tampermonkey instead.
But maybe it would be nice to fix it anyway, not for me, but given that there are +400.000 users, potentially as many who could tomorrow switch to Vivaldi and could need it (and not wanting to use the script instead). Also, would it be possible to do something about the Save in icon not appearing in extensions bar? If it works as intended that's really not a priority. It's just a visual thing. (Also, i can't find the extension manually in chrome webstore, that's weird). I'll keep you updated to tell you if it actually works or not. Thanks.
-
@Daladdine You can do bug reports (one for each extension) but a fix may be faster if you contact the extensions developers too (Downalbum in this case).
About the Save in - the missing button fix or the advanced features would up to Vivaldi devs or people which can help with the extension code.
(Extensions bug have usually a lower priority but a positive feedback from developers can speed up the process)

Found a new one! image-search-options doesn't work at all. Very useful and somewhat popular. Could you report this one please?
I'm still not sure how extensions bug report works. If I have to ask you, ask the developers or if just posting it here is enough.
Thanks anyway!
(I haven't really tried to use Save in yet, i'll keep you informed as soon as i do). -
@Daladdine Image search option works fine on my Vivaldi.
-
@Hadden89 Yep, deactivated all my extensions, restarted Vivaldi, reactivated them again. Now it works. Sorry, nevermind then. The extensions sometimes seem somewhat "buggy" at the installation even though they work fine in the end. I don't recall having those sort of issues on Chrome, but i could be wrong.
-
@Daladdine A restart always may help. Remember the extensions in Vivaldi are still inherited from chrome so they could act slightly different. For the most part they are compatible but still this can't be guaranteed (as they're not native for Vivaldi).
Also they could confict so it's better to disable the other ones during a specific addon test. -
Feedbro https://nodetics.com/feedbro/ is an extension for subscribing to RSS news. If you open this extension, the tab icon of Feedbro disappears after a short time. This only happens in Vivaldi. It does not happen in Chrome, Firefox or Edge.
The developer of Feedbro confirmed that this error can only be caused by Vivaldi.

@stardepp Wondering if it is VB-50853 related [Some extensions lose connection with chromium APIs]
//EDIT: Seems to be unrelated -
@Hadden89 said in List of incompatible extensions:
VB-50853
Okay, good to know. But I don't understand what is communicated at VB-50853, as I am not an expert.
Is VB-50853 a solution guide?
-
@Gwen-Dragon Okay, good to know.
-
@stardepp Not that I know. The core issue is that sometimes some addons lost the connection with chromium APIs so they can't do what are supposed to do.
But Gwen says is unrelated, and she actually know the devvy things better than me -
Yep, the Save in extension seems to work fine for its basic fonctions at least.
There is the "comment" feature that i can't make work, but i can't either on chrome. Haven't tried Dynamics downloads either.
So except for the invisible icon, no issues. It easily replaces "Save Image Router" for sure.I'm actually glad i switched to this extension thanks to Vivaldi, it seems much better than the latter.

@Hadden89
Since the update to Vivaldi 3.0.1874.33 the FeedBro icon is permanently displayed
