Fix h/x264 AAC MKV (audio)

I have an issue playing the audio in [t]his video file with [j]ellyfin, but it's not a jellyfin issue because the same file streams OK in safari and other browsers:

Is there any reason why vivaldi may have problems (e.g. current audio/codec bug) and/or would anyone else with a vivaldi/jellyfin setup be kind enough to test playback on their setup and report back?

Could this be something to do with the "LC" (i.e. low complexity) flavour of AAC?

What version of macOS?

Tested with Vivaldi 2.11.1811.47 (with Metal support flag) on macOS 10.15.3 (Apple has an update coming out (10.15.4) in the next few weeks) and the .mkv file plays for me

OK, so I just clicked my own dropbox URL and video file plays OK with audio (I didn't think browsers could play MKV ), so I'm chalking this up to a jellyfin (muxing) issue and I'll pursue it there

If others start experiencing this issue then I'm sure this thread will see more activity

Hmm, just looked and have the same issue with lots of AAC files

Also jellyfin says it's direct playing (i.e. not muxing) so I'm confused...

Can't find any pending issues in the jellyfin [r]epo' which leads me back to vivaldi

Any thoughts?

I remember in 2019 SBC compression caused issue in Mac

Issue is specifically with h/x264 AAC MKV and video playback seems unreliable too

Everything fine in Safari (only other browser I have installed)

Well, they all work now, except for the link from Jellyfin itself that says, "See it in action".

jellyfin is self-hosted software and you're using the demo

If you want to help then install jellyfin on your own system (ideally macOS) and test the video I hosted in dropbox

Thanks to a punctilious [t]ip, I just played this [l]ocally and no audio so I believe this to be a vivaldi issue

Explains my surprise to see - what I thought was - a .mkv streaming in a browser :

As of jellyfin 10.6 similar files are played using 'direct streaming' instead of direct play. This change effectively resolves the same issue on my side.

I was not able to reproduce the issue in Vivaldi directly, only while playing in jellyfin web player did I see the issue.
