I am getting this error with Vivaldi: Adobe Flash Player is blocked

@cejno It should work if you permanently allow flash on the site settings under the padlock at the left end of the address bar.
When I enable the flash then I cannot change the playback speed.

@Pathduck I did everything you said and it didn't work. Is it possible that the internet speed is causing this?
I doubt the speed is causing it. After all, other browsers work fine right?
But maybe the site for some reason thinks you're unable to playback HTML5 video, and serves you Flash instead. First we need to verify you're able to play video with DRM, there may be something wrong on your system.
Go to the following URLs and check if you can play all of them, especially the ones tagged with DRM
https://demo.castlabs.com/
https://bitmovin.com/demos/drmIf they play, then you need to contact Udemy support and ask why they are serving Flash video when your browser is perfectly capable of playing HTML5 video with DRM.

Hello, I was able to play these videos without any problem.

I feel like only Udemy thinks that I am unable to playback HTML5. I don't have problem with Google Chrome when I am using Udemy.
Is there a way that I can tell my browser pull this video from this website as an HTML5 format?Image 1:

@cejno
What is your version of Vivaldi? I notice we've not asked you this and it could matter a lot if you're running an older version.Have you contacted Udemy Support yet?

@cejno What happens if you click on the Blocked Content icon in right of address field?
That could unblock flash content.Yes I can do and the video plays but I cannot change playback speed. I usually watch Udemy videos at the speed of 1.5x but when I enable flash in Vivaldi then I cannot change the video speed.

I am using "Vivaldi 2.10.1745.27 is currently the newest version available." I usually check for update also and hoping a new update might solve my problem, so I use the latest version.
I didn't contacted the Udemy support yet but they usually suggest Google Chrome, when the last time I contacted them for something else. I have no problem with google chrome when I am streaming from Udemy, but Google Chrome is killing my battery so I was trying to use Vivaldi for everything. -
@Gwen-Dragon
Thank you and thanks to everybody for trying to help. I will try that. -

@PathduckHello, everyone.
This Adobe flash error that I was getting is when I was streaming from Udemy from my house. My house internet is little bit slow. Today I was at the coffee shop and the coffee shop internet is so fast. I realized that I have no problem with Udemy while using Vivaldi. This made me think that this problem only occurs while using slow internet.
I am not the expert, but while I right clicked and inspect again in coffee shop with the same video, I saw the difference in the code.
While I was in my house with slow internet, it was streaming as Adobe flash and while in coffee shop with fast internet, it was streaming as HTML5.I tried to add the screenshots also, as you can see on the screenshots:
-
@cejno If it really is the internet speed which determines if you get Flash or HTML5 content, it would surprise me. Also it would be pretty stupid for Udemy to do it that way - as Flash is being phased out during 2020 and few users will have it installed these days.
Anyway, it would be easy to test such a theory, just going into Dev.Tools and setting Throttling to "Slow 3G" in the network tab. Obviously you'd need to do this in a place with fast internet, like the coffee shop. When I tried, it just set my video resolution to a very blurry 144p but it was still regular video, not flash.
Have you tried in a Guest Profile yet, to exclude any settings or extensions?
https://help.vivaldi.com/article/guest-view/Another thing I notice in your first screenshot is this:
Is that a blank extension icon, if so what extension is it? Have you tried to disable all extensions? -

Hello, right now I am in the coffee shop and when I do that, slowing down the internet it gives me flash error again.
But with regular fast speed, there is no error. Same video.Another thing I notice in your first screenshot is this:

@cejno Well, I'm officially surprised :smiling_face_with_open_mouth_closed_eyes:
Why would they do that, with Flash being phased out?
And you said it doesn't set it to Flash when you're using Chrome/Firefox etc? Or did I misunderstand that bit?
I'd definitely hear with their Support why their site would do that.

Chrome/Firefox
No it doesn't set it to Flash when I am using Chrome or Firefox even with slow internet. It only does with Vivaldi when I use slow internet. I have no idea why it does that.
I will contact Udemy support now and let's see what they say. -
@cejno OK let us know what you hear from support. Hopefully you get someone who actually knows their stuff, as this is rare
Just a quick question about the image again:
What I was asking about was the blank space to the left of the uBlock icon. And the vertical bar. It shouldn't really look like that, so I was suspecting maybe you had a "hidden" extension running or something that would cause this.
What you could do to make sure is go to the URL
vivaldi://system
and click the "Extensions" button and note down the ones showing there. -

Hello, the image looks like my user profile, I think it looks blank because I don't use profile picture.
The extensions are as shown below:

Hello, this is what I got from Udemy support:
Hi Cejno,
Thanks for your reply and I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
The minimum speed to watch a Udemy course is 5mbps. So, if you have an internet speed lower than this I'm afraid you will encounter issues with the video playback.
Additionally, Udemy is optimized for Chrome and Firefox browsers. Other browsers may work but will not have all of the same functionalities or you may encounter playback issues. If you do not want to use Google Chrome, we recommend trying to watch your courses with Safari or Firefox if possible.
We're here in case you need anything else.
Regards,
-
@cejno Well, wasn't really unexpected to get such an ignorant and obviously clueless response from support.
Ask them to define "issue with the video playback" and if this means it will fall back to using the Flash player instead of HTML5. Also 5mbps is more than enough to playback at least 720p video, and their player goes down to 144p which is basically unwatchable but it still "works" at slower speeds.
If they keep serving you boilerplate responses ask for you issue to be escalated to a manager or someone more technical who knows what they're talking about
I still have no clue why it would try to fallback to Flash in your Vivaldi installation while for me it just uses html5 video independent of speed. Maybe a difference between snapshot and stable, I'd have to check.
