Is the Vivaldi private browsing really private?
-
The extension icons ARE shown whilst in ingognito (Vivaldi Snapshot) - however, from a quick test I don't think they are actually active!! I checked with "IM Translator" extension.
I believe/hope it is ONLY a display status problem as @npro already stated.
I couldn't find @npro's statement here(?) but, indeed, this appears to be true
IMO this is poor UX because it:
a) affords users the perception extensions are allowed when they're not
b) adds noise to extensions that are allowed
c) could/would/should confuse users when extensions seen in the address bar don't function in-pageIf this is unexpected behaviour then obviously a bug and needs fixing
If this is expected behaviour (i.e. design decision) then I'd love to understand the reasoning else I'd invite Vivaldi to reconsider this change (previous versions only showed allowed extensions in address bar)
Hope to hear back

So did you report a bug?
Looks like @Amarsingha10 never came back (so didn't report it?).P.S. here is the post

@Amarsingha10 Which Vivaldi version are you using and on which OS? This does not affect Vivaldi 2.10.1745.27 (stable channel), but only the snapshot (dev/testing) version, (they are being shown in the bar but they don't work), and I'm not sure if it is already reported. ping! @Gwen-Dragon
