Swamped by Vivaldi Forum emails
-
Since I signed up for Vivaldi my inbox (Thunderbird) has been swamped by emails from the Forum which I have not been able to stop. Not only is there a large number of them every day, a great many of them are multiples of the same posting, often as many as a dozen copies of the same thing. I have not signed up for them and have tried adjusting the Settings to 'NO' emails several times to no effect they still come and it is worse than spam. I have raised this in another Forum (aparantly the wrong one). However, following the advice given there has not helped. I have also emailed Admin about it but if past experience is anything to go by I will not get a reply. Please can someone help me get rid of this unwelcome plague? clayto Since I signed up for Vivaldi my inbox (Thunderbird) has been swamped by emails from the Forum which I have not been able to stop. Please can someone help me get rid of this unwelcome plague? clayto Since I signed in to Vivaldi my inbox (Thunderbird) has been swamped by emails from the Forum, maybe twenty or thirty a day, many of them multiple copies of the same posting. I have been to Settings several times and for every function I have indicated 'NO' to email and other Notifications. Yet still the emails come. I have reported this in other Forums which I have just been informed were the wrong ones, and that I should post here. I have alsos just followed a suggestion that I click to unsubscribe from individual postings, which may reduce the flow of unwanted emails by treating the symptoms if not the cause of the problem ---- time will tell. I have not subscribed to[b] any [/b]Forum or thread, apart from the two cases of reporting the email flood, as I have done here. It seems that I am the only person suffering this difficulty, although I see some case of individuals reporting the occasional unwanted email ---- but not the flood I am receiving, which is worse than spam. clayto I hope someone can help me get rid of this.

All indications so far are that you don't know what you're doing regarding computers since your message is repeated multiple times. Software is just a stupid machine, you have to give it time to respond to a click. This forum is particularly slow to accept messages.
Ask a knowledgeable friend to help you sort this out. All that is needed is a simple change in your subscription settings, and although it might be a bug, since most of us don't have this issue the problem is most likely at your end, because you didn't unsubscribe although you think that you did.
This is still the wrong forum.
A link to the official Vivaldi.net bug report thread is below, but before you post again, do get some help to avoid any more frustration.

I'm afraid the repeated message might be intentional to try and flood the forum in the same way it supposedly floods his email…

While the OP is not doing themselves any favours by posting the same thing in the wrong forum several times, perhaps I could offer a solution here anyway:
Each time you get one of these mails, do the following:
-
click the link in the mail to open the forum thread
-
look near the top of the page and you'll see [REPLY TOPIC][UNSUBSCRIBE][FAVORITE][THREADED][INDENTED] Page:[1][2][3][4][5]…
-
click on unsubscribe
Each time you reply to a thread, do the following:
-
Check this box to be notified of replies to this topic."
-
make sure the box is NOT checked
The mails should stop pretty quickly after the first couple of threads are unsubscribed…
