Zoom Button
-
I am quite happy with Vivaldi, however I think the page zoom should have button rather than slide. As slide is some what cumbersome and some time annoying

If you want to zoom in/out with a click, just click on the slider bar. That's pretty slick.
I have always used the scroll wheel for zoom in Opera, or shortcut keys, and never bothered with the slider.
-
Or use the + / - keys on the numeric keypad, same as old Opera.
-
ctrl+wheel works too.
-
I support adding the option. In general, I would like to see the ability to add custom buttons like we had in Presto Opera return, so I can add my Home and End buttons back in to use on my tablet.

-
The best way (in opera) is to over the zoom cursor and then using the scroll wheel.
ZERO click to get the wanted result.
I hope this will land in vivaldi tooβ¦

Bit hard on a tablet though

Bit hard on a tablet though
My tablet has a trackpoint and a mouse connected since the AD 2004, so not hard at all.
If you mean a a so called "modern" tablet, the best way to get the zoom is with pinch in/pinch out or double tap+ swipe.
We need the correct hammer for the correct nutβ¦.

ctrl+wheel works too.
But Ctrl+WheelClick for resetting the zoom doesn't work.
did't know for this reset zoom option in opera.
though i rarely used wheel for zooming, i preferred +/-/*. -

Same here!
My quote from Better Zoom? topic.
Any opinions about the zoom features or lack of them?
Personally I like to lean back on my rocking office chair, which can go far back in 45 degree angle and read the web pages I've opened.
In old Opera I tweaked zoom 150% and zoom 100% mouse gestures as the slider zoom I way too slow and inaccurate to use.
Well, I'd of course prefer to see mouse gestures you could modify as you like and do whatever with them, but
what about the slider zoom in the browser window?Anyone really sees this as useful or easy to use like it is implemented in both Opera and Vivaldi?
In my opionion it is quite unusable to target your mouse to the slider and find a correct zoom level, especially as the slider doesn't have any steps. My suggestion for far better usability:
you already have a text/button reset there. How about get rid of the slider altogether and use that same page to put 3-5 small buttons there with different zoom level which you could right click and set your own preferred zoom levels?
If someone actually likes that slider, you could of course make this as an option where one could see from two different types of zoom features.
Totally agree with you zimboman!
I want Zoom controller like this:
FirefoxMaxthon
And option to place Zoom controller to the address bar.
The most important for me is an alternative mouse combination Right Click + Wheel for Zooming!
BTW I am already using Right Click + Wheel (AHK script) for zooming in browsers. This is awesome! -
see the best possible implementation here
(the table with % should be visible only after a click on "$1 %", not when dragging neither when changing with - or +.
(done in painting in a few minutes so the quality can be low, I'm not a graphic designer)
Whatever will be the final decision just - please - if someone from Vivaldi stuff is reading it - do not delete anything. Add or hide. But do not delete.
