Confirm Form Resubmission pop-up
-
For the past 12 months I have been using the Chrome Super Auto Refresh extension and it has been great. Last week my Laptop started freezing and carrying on so I did a re-install via the Win 10 built in re-install and downloaded Vivaldi, Super Auto Refresh etc. Now when the same page tries to refresh I get the Confirm Form Resubmission pop-up. Any clues on why all was OK before but not so now?

Hi,
"Confirm form resubmission" happens when you visit a page that required you to submit a web form to visit. You get the confirmation as usually if you submitted a form, that means it causes something to update on the server, and you wouldn't want to accidentally update it twice. If you know that's not happening, it's OK to resubmit the form.
It's possible that something changed about the website that you visit - maybe it now uses a form, which could break the auto refresh.

I'm using it to refresh a Share Portfolio on a Bank-based Trading Site every 5mins and the only input in that time comes from a Ticker at the top running through the various Indicies - ASX, Hang Seng, Nasdaq etc. and I thought that perhaps this could be considered as an input by me - however last night I left the Laptop on (only Screen sleeping), still connected but with Super Auto Refresh off and the Site closed. This morning when I opened it all up again, all was working OK and has been all day thus far even with a couple of Computer restarts just to check. All very mysterious.

@embkb Does that mean your issue is resolved?

Well, I thought it was but it started again yesterday after an overnight Shutdown. I've read in various Posts elsewhere that it was designed to prevent resubmitting things like Credit Card orders etc, and from the Chrome Forum that it was a poorly written piece of the Programming they'd never bothered to fix so take your pick.
Anyway, this morning I started the Super Auto Refresh and had the same result - 'Confirm ...' -turned SAR off, went to another page on the Site, back again, restarted SAR and all good. The plot thickens. I'll post again when I find this works OK.

OK then, after using SAR all last week and starting it on roughly 10 occasions there were 3 when the pop-up did just that. When that occurred I turned SAR off, navigated to another Page on the Site, back again and restarted SAR. On each occasion this fixed the problem. Strange but no big deal, I suppose.
