Is there a usable Youtube downloader?
-
@felemur lol. I know exactly what you mean.

Chromium: https://addons.opera.com/de/extensions/details/youtube-video-and-audio-downloader/?display=en
FF 48 and higher (WebExt): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube_downloader_webx/
FF 3.0 - FF 56 (XUL): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/complete-youtube-saver/All extensions support ffmpeg.
Or use the userscript from savefrom.net and write a custom protocol (ummy://) wrapper for youtube-dl. The part after the ummy:// is the video URL and if the string ends with &sf_type=audio it's audio only.

I have been using Download YouTube Chrome (http://www.downloadyoutubechrome.com) for some time and for most videos it works fine, although with the previous version of YT, as the new version appears to not work with it too well. YT is still allowing users to select the old version for preference, however, so DYTC is still mainly working fine for now.

Do any of these have a scheduler?

@lucifuge This is serious mission drift, but I had none of those problems with SJ. Bookmarks export is right in the Manager. The adventitious toolbar icons have to be removed only once, etc. The reason I switched away was the lack of support, whereas here I am almost assured of a reply to my questions. SJ is still an excellent browser, IMO - it's my backup.
I tried SMPlayer a good year ago. Maybe I should give it another look.

There are 2 ways you might have a try, one is Screen Recorder, and the other is YouTube online downloader to help you download your YouTube video.

Yes, You just need a superior online YouTube downloader. TubeGeter offers output quality for video from 144p to 8K.

Better Hooktube

I have not found one that is usable from Vivaldi, however youtube-dl is fairly good stand alone.
