GPU Intel GN 965
xf86-video-intel 2.99.917-6.1

Hmmm, never had that problem - I use Mint Linux (Ubuntu). Not sure if that has anything to do with it. I'm busy today, so won't be able to reply again until tomorrow, but here is some info, not sure if it will help:
If the video is 360p only, try this:

https://www.slimjet.com/en/webhelp/youtube-video-downloader.htmForum (creators of Slimjet do reply). Like here, the folks on this forum are very helpful:

the SlimJet Browser
This was how I did it too, before I found youtube-dl. SJ is a good way to go, and it still works for me here on Linux.

Now that there is a GUI for YouTube-dl, I install it on computers that I replace Windows with Linux for friends / family. In Mint Linux, go to the software manager, and search for youtube, then check Youtube-dl and Youtube-dlg, install, and you get the GUI version of Youtube-dl which you can start from the Menu, and never have to use the bash version. You can do the usual Youtube-dl stuff like extract audio to mp3, etc.

@felemur Interesting. I think the command line is virtually as easy, and has a lot more power, but there is a bit of a learning curve and I can see that some would prefer the GUI.

I agree - I still use the command line version myself when I use it, even though I have installed the GUI version so I could learn it to teach others.
Its just that I find it easier (on myself) to teach former Windows users how to use Linux if I can avoid the command line at first. Windows users look at the command line like something totally impenetrable. So, I just say to them (if they don't want any other browser than Chrome or Firefox), just click menu and type "Youtube" and click the one that says, "Youtube dl GUI" and select what you want and click start.
One day I sent someone who wanted to extract .mp3 files from a video for their phone this by email: youtube-dl --extract-audio --audio-format mp3 https:// and said, "paste that after the $ in the terminal and paste the youtube URL after that and hit Enter. I had to exchange about 8 emails with them before they could make it work. I decided after that to not even tell them about the terminal version and install the GUI. My nerves could not take it!

@felemur lol. I know exactly what you mean.

Chromium: https://addons.opera.com/de/extensions/details/youtube-video-and-audio-downloader/?display=en
FF 48 and higher (WebExt): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube_downloader_webx/
FF 3.0 - FF 56 (XUL): https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/complete-youtube-saver/All extensions support ffmpeg.
Or use the userscript from savefrom.net and write a custom protocol (ummy://) wrapper for youtube-dl. The part after the ummy:// is the video URL and if the string ends with &sf_type=audio it's audio only.

I have been using Download YouTube Chrome (http://www.downloadyoutubechrome.com) for some time and for most videos it works fine, although with the previous version of YT, as the new version appears to not work with it too well. YT is still allowing users to select the old version for preference, however, so DYTC is still mainly working fine for now.

Do any of these have a scheduler?

@lucifuge This is serious mission drift, but I had none of those problems with SJ. Bookmarks export is right in the Manager. The adventitious toolbar icons have to be removed only once, etc. The reason I switched away was the lack of support, whereas here I am almost assured of a reply to my questions. SJ is still an excellent browser, IMO - it's my backup.
I tried SMPlayer a good year ago. Maybe I should give it another look.

There are 2 ways you might have a try, one is Screen Recorder, and the other is YouTube online downloader to help you download your YouTube video.
-
Yes, You just need a superior online YouTube downloader. TubeGeter offers output quality for video from 144p to 8K.
-
Better Hooktube

I have not found one that is usable from Vivaldi, however youtube-dl is fairly good stand alone.
