I believe adding this feature makes easy for users to identify whether a website is legitimate or phishingI could not find an option in Settings - Address Bar
How do I enable this feature in Vivaldi ? -
What I was looking for is an "option" when enabled will display only the
{domain} or {subdomain} {domain}
(no matter how far the user navigates into the website)And if user wishes to see complete URL, clicking the address bar reveals it
From the article I've quoted this section.

I imagine that s refers to the anti-phishing protection that incorporates Chrome (optional in Vivaldi), removing the URL subdomain WWW.
But I do not see much use in this, since the AV, the adblocker and the common sense do it also and even better.
I see it more dangerous to click on shortened URLs with some Urlshortener, where you do not really see where they can take you or divert you (I use the Unfurlr extension, which shows the real address behind the shortened URL) -
I already made a mod that can do this :
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/32799/making-the-domain-more-visible-in-the-address-bar
From a user safety perspective, making the domain visible in this manner works pretty well, I reckon.

IMHO option to display only the domain / subdomain+ domain
makes it easy to see the name of the site and chances of identifying a phishing site would increase
Also other components of the url might not be useful for a normal user -
@LonM Thanks
I would like to see this as an option in Settings - Address Bar (the lazy way)
I shall search the forum and make a feature request -
Yeah, optional, why not. But I don't want to see this forced unto all users. I like to have complete addresses personally and don't see why information should be hidden.
