[Feature Request] Small lateral tabs (preview-less)
-
Hi, I would like to have left- and right-sided tabs to be alternatively shown without any previews. While previews are often helpful for sites with lots of content-variation I find them rather bulky for places like Vivaldi.net or similar target sites having a static overall-appearance. The Tree Style Tab extension for Firefox does a really nice job here (the uniform title could be easily changed). The option to omit thumbnails would probably be handy. Should be fairly easy to code an option to toggle them off. Tree-style tabs would be a bit tougher to code, though I suppose they could come along some day.
Of course in the meantime, the more tabs you add, the smaller the thumbnails get anyway, until they go away altogether (when you reach about 27 tabs).
I personally hate tab trees, and prefer a "flat" tab implementation, so tree-style probably ought to be optional.
The closest thing to a tree I would find useful is if new tabs were always added at the end, and child tabs were always added next to the parent, with no indent. I could live with that.

I should have made myself a bit clearer.

That's exactly all this wish of mine is about. Just the elegant, slim and flat horizontal tabs put on either sides, with all tabs making up a simple list.
As for the FF extension: The tree-style can come in handy some times when there are several unrelated branched information streams under one common root.
But as already emphasized, KISS is king.

I understood you correctly, then.
"…several unrelated branched information streams under one common root." Yeah. That never happens to me, thankfully.

That's my daily fate.
