Change of behaviour for the quick commands?
-
Open Pages in New Tabs
-
This opens a website in the current tab which is not the behaviour I am aiming for.
I want to change the focus to a tab that is already opened.
Another example:
I have opened Twitter and want to change to a different tab, for example Wikipedia, that is already opened.
I don't want to press Ctrl+Tab to switch through all the open tabs since this can take some time, if there are many other tabs.
Instead, I just want to press F2, type 'wiki' and press enter, to switch to the already opened tab.
Does this clarify, what I mean?

It's so easy, bookmark the site, add a nick - QC accepts one character, hit F2, input the nick and voilà

As I already stated in my original post, I know of this behaviour, but this opens it as a new tab...
If I have a tab already opened and want to open it, I cannot use my old workflow, since the behaviour of QC was changed...
See original post for the old workflow and what changed.I am just a little sad, that the behaviour of a key feature is changed, without the possibility to go back to the old behaviour, and would be glad, if I could go back to the old behaviour in some way...

@pibebtol I understand your frustration. You can open the link in the current tab, just disable
-
@lamarca The problem is about switching to an existing tab. Bookmarks can never solve that problem, since they always open a new page (whether that's in the current tab or not).
Imaging having 100 tabs open across 5 windows. You want to switch to a specific tab but you don't know which window that tab is in, where it is in that window. Open QC, type part of the tabs name, press 'enter'. You're taken to the correct tab in the correct window. Or at least that's how it used to be before "Search for..." and "Create note" were put above other commands in QC.

@komposten I am a Mod, one of my taks is support the all the users. Some issues are beyond my function.
I can suggest you start a topic here -
@lamarca I know you are a mod and I know what mods do. That doesn't change the fact that I believe you have misunderstood what the OP is asking about. I tried to clarify the problem further in my post above, not suggest a new feature (because what I'm talking about already exists, but was changed to be less convenient in a recent update as mentioned by the OP).

It's perfect clear for me. I understand his needs and frustration. There is nothing I can be done. be sure the issue of @pibebtol will be internally reported. That's enough for now. The topic won't be locked.
One more time I am sorry. -
Euhm, thanks for clarifying this, @Komposten
I didn't want to create any distress, I just felt misunderstood.
One question: Shall I create a new issue or did you report it internally?
be sure the issue of @pibebtol will be internally reported.
I am not sure if this means I should create the issue...
