At least one annoying bug fixed
There are still problems on the session management (even on this very forum a new tab won't keep the login status)
-
SHould I uninstall the previous version of Vbrowser or just start the new file?
-
I simply installed the new over the old. No probs.

@Gwen-Dragon:
Close button of main window not functional
Windows 7x64
F4 works and closes VivaldiBug reported /
/EDIT: but got no bugnumber yetYeah known bug, will be fixed
-
There are still some problems with keyboard shortcuts, at least on Google+. Although it is now possible to write symbols like + and - into the text area when composing a new post or comment without the whole page zooming in or out, some keys still do cause problems. Notably Backspace, which is unfortunate, as using it gets you back in history, effectively making you unable to post anything there in Vivaldi

UI is slower than (say) the one of Opium.
I'm sure it's a youth problem that will be fixed ASAP.
BTW If I'm wrong, and the price to pay to have what I need, are some mS of delay, I'll pay it happily.

The update installed perfectly as a stand-alone, over top of the initial release. Upon closing, the browser refused to close (as described earlier by @gwen-dragon and bug-acknowledged by @Olli). After forcing it shut via Task Manager, several restarts have all worked fine thereafter for close button functionality. My entire bookmarks and all settings seem to have all carried over just fine.

in my case Panel bar doesn't toggle at all until I click somewhere inside the browser (if I'm trying to toggle it via "Show panel" button on status bar).
And if I'm using View->Toggle Panel, clicking inside the page doesn't work. The only way is to wait - panel toggles after 20-30 sec.
The only stable way to toggle the panel is via F4 (unless I tried to do it via menu first, in that case I have to wait 30 sec and F4 shortcut starts to work only then). -

I don't have such problem at all (win 10 x64), per user installation.
Maybe, in your case is better to clear your vivaldi profile directory then test the last snapshot.

I just noted that pinning a Vivaldi icon on the Win7 taskbar causes a second Vivaldi icon to appear on the taskbar whenever Vivaldi is started/run from the first icon (or from anywhere else, for that matter). The Vivaldi installation is a stand-alone one, but I've not noticed any other programs functioning this way with duplicated taskbar icons. When mousing over the original Vivaldi icon on the bar, I only get a "Vivaldi" pop-up, whereas when mousing over the duplicated Vivaldi icon, I get the usual thumbnail of the current open Vivaldi tab.
Closing Vivaldi causes the duplicated taskbar icon to simply disappear. I don't know if this is a bug or something else odd regarding the installation on this system. I've tried replacing the pinned icon, but the behavior recurs.

Not confirmed here, win 10 x64 and Win Storage Server Essentials 2008r2 (the latter is win 7 based)

Not confirmed on Win8.1.
Of course I "pin" programs differently than most people, I think. Rather than letting an installer install a pinned shortcut, or right-clicking an inactive shortcut and selecting "pin," I open the program and then right-click on its icon on the taskbar and tell it to pin.
To use other methods, I've noticed, sometimes causes there to be two taskbar icons if the program is open - particularly with chromium-based browsers for some reason. With this method, I never see that.

That's the way I use too…

That's just how I pinned it, as is my usual custom. As I said, I've installed it as a stand-alone installation (and not default), but my Opera 12.14 is also installed the same way (stand-alone), not default, and pinned right beside Vivaldi - but the Opera icon doesn't duplicate itself when opened. Sadly, I never paid attention whether the previous, initial Vivaldi Tech Preview version acted this way as well… some things just kind of slip by without noticing until they suddenly jump out at you.
I'll have to see if the behavior survives a full system restart when I finally get around to doing that... but I only do that when other circumstances require it. Right now, the icon issue is more puzzling than troubling.

I had the opposite issue with one of the latest Opium releases.
I had the icon pinned but blank.
I solved it uninstalling Opium, deleting the program folder (not the profile), then reinstalling it.

I tried it again to use for 30 minutes and I just can't. It drives me crazy to the point I just close it and go back to my default browser.
The browsers keeps losing cookies or something else, because on websites that run forums, in particular vbulletin forums, you can mark the checkbox to remember you and it does not work. The minute you open a post in a new tab you are suddenly logged out again. This happens all the time, the browser will not remember you in almost any website.
But the reason why its not usable for me is because it keeps losing focus when I'm typing something. This is so, but so frustrating to the point you actually get angry and just close it. The browser does not let you type a single phrase anywhere.
The problem happens when you press the Enter key. I type, then want a new paragraph and hit enter, and my cursor is gone….
I don't know where, but I type and nothing appears on the screen anymore, the focus is not in the text box anymore but its gone. I then click on the box again, type again, the minute I press enter, the same things happens.
Also, Ctrl +/-/0 still don't work for zooming out and in. I need to zoom in when I type and then zoom out again, you can't do this right now, because typing Ctrl + does not work, the zoom only works with + and I don't need to explain why that does not work on a text field.
In the previous version I noticed the losing focus before, but now its impossible to use. It happens every time I hit the enter key. And this is the only way to make a new phrase. So I make a phrase, hit enter, lose focus, click with the mouse again on the text box. Type the phrase, lose focus, click with the mouse again, and so on. I basically have to click with the mouse for every single line of text. You can't use a browser like this, you can't type anything unless there are single lines.
