[1.15.1130.3] Strange left click behavior
-
Hi,
recently I experienced problems when left-clicking around Vivaldi screen (page links).
The problem is Vivaldi sometimes doesn't recognize left clicks, only second or third click works. If that happens, cursor enters into text selection mode so I need to perform extra click to get rid of that selection and click again on the link. This is random. Very annoying.
some facts:
- used three different USB mouses (one brand new)
- two different computers (win 7 & win 8.1)
- disabled all extensions
- happen since last two snapshot updates I think, no problems before
- latest snapshot build 1.15.1130.3 (Official Build) (32-bit) Windows
thanks

@mkr-0 said in Strange left click behavior:
1.15.1130.3
latest is already 1.15.1132.3 and many problems about mouse gestures are fixed, try updating.

I am afraid that changed nothing
edit: ok, I just realized when I click and hold left button over the links a little longer (~0.5 s) it works as expected. But still not comfortable to use the browser this way
I'll report back later.

@mkr-0 Same problem here with the two latest updates. Latest snapshot is 1.15.1132.3 on Windows 7.
I was wondering if I was the only one with the problem. I've tried to disable extensions without any good results. Sometimes it helps updating the page and clicking the links works as usual.

After some use I can tell that snapshot 1.15.1132.3 is much better, not perfect, but only got occasional miss clicks here.

Could it be something else stealing focus from Vivaldi? Then you might need the first click to get the focus back. You could try if this helps:
http://fy.chalmers.se/~appro/nt/TXMouse/Edit:
"X11 is better for fingers.
Copy with mouse.
Paste with mouse.
Focus without clicks.
Raise and lower windows.
So called X-Mouse.
One and only... True X-Mouse Gizmo." -
@zunhs I think this is not the case, becasue the problem is strictly related to the Vivaldi browser and is not system-wide. This issue is rather about having text selection instead of clicks.
Anyway, TXMouse seems like interesting project, never heard about it, thanks.

I have exactly the same problem with Vivaldi 1.15.1146.5 (not anywhere else).

Same issue here.

I reported this as a bug recently.
(VB-39086) Links Don't Open first time, but open Two Tabs on Second Click
