[KDE] Change the colors of the menus (ie context menu)
-
One issue with Vivaldi is that the themes don't apply to every thing. For exemple, the menus in the menu bar, the context menu, or the badge still have a bright color when the rest of the browser is in a dark theme.
I stumbled upon a trick, totally by accident : the browser is in fact following the GTK theme of your computer. So, even if your KDE is in Breeze Dark, if you haven't switched the GTK themes, the menus will still be bright.
To correct this, go to the system settings, Applications appearances, GNOME applications appearances, and switch to the theme you want, everywhere you can. Apply and restart Vivaldi, and boom, you have the menus in the right color.

@cqoicebordel Well yeah, but fyi you can finesse it even more if you wish. Coz V uses the GTK3 theme, if you aren't happy with the pre-existing selections, you can take one & modify its CSS file to suit your aesthetic sensibilities.
I modified this hitherto boring theme "Xfce Evolution" to better suit my Manjaro Plasma5 colours. The file modified is
/home/steffie/.themes/Xfce Evolution/gtk-3.0/gtk.css
. Thereafter for unambiguity i renamed the entire theme as "Steffie Xfce Evolution", which you can see called up in the Plasma Settings above. As a consequence, in my V:V's great. Plasma5's great. Linux rulz. Yay.

Nice !!!
To be honest, I wasn't aware of that since a couple days ago. I thought it was the discovery of the year, but it seems I was just late to the party

@cqoicebordel I had been fretting about my previous reply to you. I wrote it poorly & want now to clarify something... prompted by your subsequent
I thought it was the discovery of the year
Your discovery IS lovely, & i regret having not reinforced that to you. I remember i was also excited & rather pleased when i also realised we can do these kinds of nice tricks, care of us using a great browser, & a great DE.
Yay you!

It's very, very nice of you
I applaud the way you attempt to reinforce the good things, it's really rarely seen on the web
But don't worry about meSince we are only us two discussing here, and that I love Plasma too, I will shamelessly advertise for my website : http://www.cqoicebordel.net. There are a couple of things for Plasma or for Vivaldi there
