Paste URL into panel
-
I like to view some Youtube videos while I am browsing the web and putting them into a panel is an easy way to achieve that.
Naturally I do not want to create and remove panels for each video, so I just threw together a quick and dirty minimal page with an input field and a go button. I then add this as a panel with a custom width such that it neatly fits a video.
Open panel, paste in URL, click go. To change the URL, hit the panel home button and repeat. There probably is a cleaner way of doing it, but it works. Naturally it is not limited to video content.
I am leaving this here in case it is useful for anyone else.
<!DOCTYPE html> <html> <head> <style> input { width : 90%; } </style> </head> <body> <script type="text/javascript"> function myFunction() { window.open(document.getElementById('myurl').value, "_self"); } </script> <input type="text" name="myurl" id="myurl" value=""> <button type="button" onclick="myFunction()">Go</button> </body> </html>
