What is stopping you from using V all the time?
-
@ayespy fair enough, i must be in the minority that doesn't see it as all that important.
-
-
@smajor Interesting. Selective pushing might be something I'd use, yes. I don't know what's planned for V in this respect. Will wait and see.
-
For me, it is the lack of Sync. I know it is coming. I'm waiting and will come back when Sync is out.
-
Still patiently waiting for mouse chording customization, a year later.
Edit: Correction, 2 years later!
-
@jplanvers Mouse chording works for me.
-
@joelyoung It works for me too, but it is not customisable.
-
Yes, I want to customize what the mouse chords actually do. They already support chording, and customization of everything else, so it shouldn't be a big deal. This is literally the only thing stopping me from switching to Vivaldi full-time.
Timing is becoming critical, because Firefox mouse gestures are essentially broken in version 57, releasing in November. So at that point I will either move to a Firefox fork that still works with Firegestures or switch to Vivaldi.

so it shouldn't be a big deal
Famous last words.

@bhau Not yet. It's planned, but not yet. There is an early (pre-alpha) version for Android that has been produced, but only the developers and the founder of the company have access to it - not even internal testers such as myself.

Looking forward to that! It's only a Web browser so it shouldn't be a big deal. (hahaha)

For me it is still the Bookmarking platform. Several issues with that.
Also High CPU usage which probably goes with poor battery life when using V for extended periods as I do.
I still use it often, but if I'm away from my power cord V is a no go. -
@greybeard Does occasional hibernating the background tabs help with that?

Does not seem to.
-
The ability to move bookmarks around without the need to open the bookmarks panel/page would be a plus for me.
-
@mau Ideally, one would be able to use the Bookmarks Bar to organize bookmarks.
-
@mau i think @para-noid has the bookmarks bar displayed and is saying that it would be nice to be able to drag bookmarks around between folders on the bar. I agree; it wouldn't stop me using V but it does feel odd that you can't just do that.
-
@mau ...good example of synchronous replies...
-
I'm not going to stop using V on account of not being able to drag and drop bookmarks via the bookmarks bar.
Yeah, I forgot to mention I use the bookmarks bar.FYI, "I'm A Full Time Vivaldi User". And proud of it too.
-
Don't use it on battery. At the moment nothing competes with the energy efficiency of Safari, and I don't expect it to change anytime soon.
