[Resolved] How to install both the stable and the snapshot versions?
-
I want to have both the stable and the snapshot version installed on my desktop, is that possible? Because if I try to install the snapshot version, it removes the stable version.
-
@meymigrou Install the Snapshot version into any folder using the Standalone Advanced installation option.
-
Use Standalone Installation option and install browsers in different folders.
-
What do you mean with standalone option? Is it available while installing the browser?

Thank you! One more question please, what is better the 64bit or 32bit version? My laptop has 64bit Windows 10 with 8GB of RAM. But some people told me that the 32bit version is more stable.
-
@meymigrou I've always tried 64-bit and never seen any more stability issues than with 32-bit. If you have a 64-bit system, I would suggest using the 64-bit version.
-
On the Blog download page the 32-bit version is recommended for 1.11 final.
I think that's no longer the case for 1.12 Snapshots. Version 1.12 Final is not too far away.
Windows (7+)
Vivaldi 1.11 32bit

Vivaldi 1.11 64bit -
Okay so I am facing a few problems. First, I got an error saying that I didn't had the permissions to install the program.
So I closed the stable version and run the snapshot as an administrator. The program then started and I choose the standalone option and located the installation to C:\Program Files. The program then started the installation but a few seconds later stopped and there's no Vivaldi Snapshot to be found.
I tried a few times and nothing, it just keeps closing.

@meymigrou Standalone versions should go elsewhere, in a folder where you have permissions. Program Files is reserved for a standard installation.
-
@pesala I've installed it on the Documents folder and it worked. Thank you!
-
@meymigrou I would not recommend mixing it up with your documents. Create a new folder for Vivaldi, e.g. C:\Vivaldi\ and install it there.
-
@pesala Or even c:\users\yourusername\appdata\local\vivaldiSA
