"Close tab" mouse gesture interpreted too early as "new tab" gesture [SOLVED]
-
Sometimes, when I want to close tab with a mouse gesture, it is interpreted at the end of downward motion as a new tab gesture, which makes it a VERY annoying.
-
You must be doing it incorrectly then, or your mouse buttons are too sensitive and you release them too quickly.
Closing the tab gesture is the one that I perform all the time, every day (sometimes I do that unconsciously in apps that don't even support mouse gestures ) and I can't complain about Vivaldi in this regard... For me, it works flawlessly.
-
No problem here. I use GestureDown, GestureRight for New Tab, and GestureDown for Scroll Page to bottom.
If you're annoyed by frequent errors, reassign your mouse gestures so that there is no possibility of conflicts.

I also have this issue.
I'm using mouse gestures (FireGestures) in Firefox for many years now and and never had a problem. But in Vivaldi it often happens when I want to close a tab (gesture down), that the same tab is opened as new tab.
So this really happens, I can't believe that I'm doing it wrong. XD -
In my case, the mouse was at fault. It was simply broken and it broke off the mousedown intermittently.
You can perform simple test:
- swap left/right mouse button in settings
- open paint (or gimp or whatever)
- try to draw lines, repeat many times
In some cases, you might see the line is interrupted. That means your mouse is faulty.

Nope, this is not the problem. I tested this a little bit more..
And now I can say:
This issue happens "always" to me, when I try to do a close gesture while my mouse cursor is over an imagelink. Please try this yourself. The close gesture only works for me, when I'm not over an imagelink.
Sry about my english. ^^ -

Then you have GestureDown assigned to open a link.
