Can't resize window, always maximized
-
Hi,
been awhile since I've used Vivaldi, but I wanted to give it another go. There is one big problem that completely prevents me from using. I can't resize the window and it is always maximized.
Vivaldi version: 1.8.770.56 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
uname -all
Linux HAL-142 3.19.0-32-generic #37~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Oct 22 09:41:40 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux -
Some new details. When I started it this morning it's initial behavior was correct, but when I maximized it it stayed that way. Right clicking on the panel icon shows that move and resize option are disabled. Could possibly be some interaction with my window manager? Using Mate.

@thejasper: One would absolutely assume it's some interaction with your WM. Have you tried running it in native window?

Using Mate.
Maybe an outdated version of Mate, given the age of your kernel?

I' ve the same phenomene thejasper has too. My configuration ist also the same:
Linux [myname] 3.19.0-32-generic #37~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Oct 22 09:41:40 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
To maximate the Browser-window, i can click for one single time the button. After that, no other change of size is possible. I have to minimize to the bar an reactive from there for changing the size for the next only one time. -
I use Linux-mint 17.3. Is this the Desktop Environment ou mean?
-
We meant DE like KDE or Gnome, there are are a lot for Linux and you can use what you like.
For my Opensuse standard is KDE for example.Cheers, mib

My DE is cinnamon
-
@RWBrf: My Linux distro is Mint 18.1 (Serena) X64 Cinnamon. Vivaldi works completely as expected in it. You might see what happens if you refresh your profile.
-
@Ayespy Thank you. After refreshing my profile it works. I think the problem was in the file „preferences“, because after copying this file in the new profile the problem moved.
-
@RWBrf: Ta daa!

Hello, here I'm back again. The problem came back. I don't know why.
Probably it depends of Adblock? -
I tested. It depends of the beginning size of the window.
If the top border and the bottom border of the window are on the top and bottom of my screen, i can't change the size to maximize an resize with the button on top.
If the window is a little bit less in the height than my screen I can change the size to maimum and rezize.
The border on the left and right are not relevant. They might be at the maximum or not.
Other programs don't have this phenomenon. -
This worked thanks. I suspect my settings got screwed up because of an earlier crash.
