@Dietrich: No developer, to my knowledge, has looked at this. As a general rule, compatibility with any single one of the million or so Chrome extensions gets little to no attention during the development cycle.
If a given extension is complained of a lot, however, as IDM has been lately, that's a sign a significant number of users want it to work. In such a case, once basics are attended to (and they have not been yet, for the impending release of 1.8 Stable), its possible the devs will get a look at it for the next version. No guarantees.
-
@Dietrich - If the issue is with Vivaldi, then Vivaldi will have to fix it, no? And if Vivaldi will have to fix it, then we will have to wait upon the pleasure of the developers - who have a ton of things to do. They will address any problems with IDM if/when they can, in the normal course. Vivaldi is far from a mature/complete browser, and the primary emphasis right now is on getting it basically done - not attending to its compatibility with every possible thing any and every user may want to use with it. As I said, since complaints about IDM are fairly popular, The devs will look at that problem sooner than they would some obscure extension no one uses.

@Dietrich There was a language problem
No developer, to my knowledge, has looked at this.
He actually meant "To my knowledge, none of the Vivaldi developers have looked at this problem (yet) ... etc".
He did NOT mean "No (IDM is wrong) a Vivaldi developer has looked at this ... etc".
-
@Dietrich: TbGbe is exactly right. The English construction of "No developer" means "Not any developer. Not a single developer." It's the same usage as "No man has seen the face of death and lived to tell of it" or "No Belgian has climbed K2."
If I had wanted to disagree with the earlier user, I would have to have used a comma semicolon or dash, and specified a singular or plural case for "developer" as in, "No, developers have looked at this." or "No, a developer has looked at this." The next sentence, if I were to make sense, would have to say what the developer(s) found when they looked. But as none looked, nothing has been found.
It is accurate to say, "To my knowledge, none of the Vivaldi developers have looked at this problem."

It still does not work. The answer from the developers of IDM is the problem of Vivaldi browser
When fix? -
@Alexey71 have you sent this to vivaldi.com/bugreport ?
-
@iAN-CooG Yes
-
@Gwen-Dragon
The "Download Panel" does not appear.On any sites where it is supported.
For example, YouTube, play any video. On the top right there should be a "download panel"
Vivaldi browser locks the panel
That's how it should be

I'm having the same problem.
Can anyone help me? Thanks!

@Junismyname
I try to fix but it still broke?

Hi there, the latest IDM extension (Version 6.28.16) is not working with the latest version of Vivaldi (1.13.971.8 (Official Build) (32-bit)) . The pop-up download panel does not appear when a video is being played.
-
Just to inform that the latest version for Windows - 1.13.1008.18 (Official Build) (32-bit), is working well together with IDM extension 6.28.16.
Cheers to the Vivaldi Dev team.

@dietrich said in Internet download manager not working:
@lenfari I understand your frustration. You are right, IDM doesn't work in any version, whatever you do.
It works fine in Chrome though.
Do yourself a favor and forget IDM.
Just install Ant Download Manager and you will forget about IDM!Thanks. This program save me. No problem at all.
