Custom Themes - Colour of Accent Bar is not Honoured and Randomly Changes
-
Hi everyone, this is a defect report regarding changes I noticed in the new release: Vivaldi 1.3.551.30 (Stable channel) (32-bit) Revision ec1fa47e9941592fc4783e7c53ea5291c667df58 OS Windows I noticed this happens both on my work PC (Windows 7 64 bit) and my home PC (Windows 10 64 bit.) General: I much preferred the "dark" theme in the older release, but that seems to have been done away with. Now all of the themes available , including the new "dark" theme, have some bright colours in them, which hurt my eyes. (I have some visual problems with high contrast themes in general.) So I tried to make my own "dark" theme, but it doesn't work as expected. Description: Colour of accent bar changes randomly when switching tabs, when a custom theme is in use. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create a custom theme with some arbitrary colours and enable it. 2. Open some tabs on various other web sites. 3. Switch around between the various tabs. 4. Observe that the top of the window (where the web page's title is written) only retains the correct "accent" colour from the theme when on the Start page. All other pages show some other random colour, which changes from one tab to another. Expected behaviour: The title bar retains the colour specified in the "accent" field of the theme. This is really annoying and it hurts my eyes. Vivaldo team, you please do the following suggested mitigation? 1. Bring back a true "dark" theme with no bright colours. 2. Please fix custom themes so their colours are honoured at all times. Thank you for reading.

Under the theme you are using, uncheck "Accent Color from Active Page."

So it is a feature. I don't see the purpose behind it, but at least it seems to be working to specification. Thank you for the information.
