Address bar search creates a text file
-
When I set the Suggest URL to: https://www.google.com/complete/search?client=opera&q=%s and do a search either in the address bar or search bar then Vivaldi creates a text file and downloads it. Only after setting to Defaults does it work again Any suggestions? Thx

What you are describing is what happens when you put that URL into the "URL" field and not the "Suggest URL" field. If you are using the stable 1.2.490.43 release of Vivaldi or a version older that that, there is no "Suggest URL" field for search engines, because that field was implemented more recently than that.
If you are indeed using the 1.2 stable version and would like to have access to the "Suggest URL" field before the stable 1.3 is released, you can download the most recent developer snapshot at: https://vivaldi.net/en-US/content/vivaldi-updates

I think you may have misunderstood what I wrote.
If you go to "Vivaldi Preferences->Search" and edit the Google entry, there are two relevant fields:
- The first one is the "URL" field. This field should contain:```
https://www.google.com/search?q=%s - The second field is the "Suggest URL" field. This is the field that you can copy that URL into that you mentioned above. It needs to start with https, though, as in:```
https://www.google.com/complete/search?client=opera&q=%s
I personally try to feed as little of my personal information as possible to Google, which is why I don't have Google set up this way in my main install of Vivaldi and why I have DuckDuckGo set as my default search engine, but I just tested the above settings with a standalone install of Vivaldi 1.3 and they work without a hitch.
- The first one is the "URL" field. This field should contain:```

Ah yes my bad, it works
