We will be doing maintenance work on Vivaldi Translate on the 11th of May starting at 03:00 (UTC) (see the time in your time zone).
Some downtime and service disruptions may be experienced.
Thanks in advance for your patience.
1Password

Hopefully, some time in the future you will add 1Password as an extension so that all passwords can be synced and saved.
-
Yes, we plan to support extension including password managers like 1Password, Lastpass etc.
-
That's great to here, thank you.
-
Actually, there is a way to get 1password to work:
- go to 1password, and go through the normal 'Install Browser Extensions'. this will take you to agilebits' webpage with Chrome's extesion
- I selected the beta version
- Install. You will see a dialogue about connecting to the 1password app. Just close this.
- go to 1password, Preferences>Advanced
- deselect 'Verify browser code signature'. CAVEAT: this is a potential security risk; read the small text!
- that's it; it worked fine for me with latest Macc App Store version of 1password (5.1) and Mac OS (10.10.2).
It seems the easiest for Vivaldi developers for now would be to code-sign the browser…
-
I have tried about 10 times on 2 different machines, with beta and without beta option on the chrome extension and everytime I select install for the extension, vivaldi crashes….
Has anyone else got this working?
thanks!

Extensions are not implemented yet. Everyone on Mac is having trouble with the browser crashing whenever they try to install one. For now, I counsel patience.
-
Thanks, I thought it worked due to the post above…. maybe it should be removed or a note put in so others arent misled... anyways, hanks! I had thought extensions werent supported

I have 1Password, Ghostery, and adblock (getadblock dot com) all working.
OS X Yosemite late-2009 MBP
1Password won't yet push the u/n & p/w into fields using ⌘ + /, but you can use the right click menu.
-
Can you tell me how to get it installed, please? Not having 1Password is the biggest block to my being able to dump Chrome! I tried the method given further up this thread and all it did was re-install the extension in Chrome, as far as I can see.

I'd love to know as well. I tried installing the plugin via the Chrome web store, but the page just says Chrome only, and links out to the page to install Chrome.
-
having the same problem with installing 1password extension. It's quite necessary to have this, before I will switch to Vivaldi. I have a MacbookAir
-
After the last update to Vivaldi, the chrome plug-ins finally installed and worked, up to a point. I now have 1Password installed via the chrome store but when I click 1P to log-in, I get a warning message from the 1P app. If I do a manual select password/ copy and paste/ it works ok and Vivaldi saves the password for future use. So it's a partial success.

Hi macjim,
Did the error message that you saw refer to a code signature by any chance?
1Password verifies the browser code signature of the browser that the extension is installed in as an additional layer of security - a reassurance to the user that it's a legitimate copy. The list of known browsers in 1Password is very small but as of 6.2.BETA-2 this list does now include the Vivaldi browser.
If you're still interested in having browser code signature verification can I offer the suggestion of checking out the beta version of 1Password. You can move from the stable version to the beta by opening up 1Password's preferences, switching to the Updates tab and ticking the checkbox titled Include beta builds. If you then force an update check, available via the menu option 1Password > Check for Updates… it will offer you the latest beta.
If you have any questions please do ask and I'll do my best to answer.
-
Sorry for the delay replying… Please see attached file to see error message. I will wait for 1P to add Vivaldi to the browsers list for now as I can work around the problem for now.

Hi macjim,
That's the browser code signature check. So if you're happy to do so trying the 1Password beta would mean you could successfully fill in Vivaldi with the Verify browser code signature option enabled as the beta is aware of Vivaldi now. Is that something that might interest you?
-
I'll have a wee think about it as I'm not really sure about it just now.
-
If you decide you'd like to do so and need any help just post here and Vivaldi's forums will notify me
Just in case it isn't clear at all, I'm also LittleBobbyTables over in our AgileBits forums and I'm part of the AgileBits team

Thank you AgileBits aka 1Password team for supporting Vivaldi!
We're all very grateful and happy!

Just wanted to say thanks, too.
I won't switch to the 1Password beta (I know you guys take data security/integrity very seriously), but I am very much looking forward to Vivaldi support in the next stable channel release of 1Password!

The 6.2 version from the AgileBits web store also does not seem to recognize Vivaldi's signature.
