@haraldurtg information says the eruption is about 20 km away from capital.

@DoctorG The wind currently blows away from the capital, and seems likely to do so for the next few days. At other times it blows towards us, so would, I suppose, bring fumes with it. I am not too worried.

There's a building in the way but otherwise you could easily see the plume from the Iceland office. It had just started erupting when I was going home from work yesterday.
