"Show simplified view" popping up even though it's disabled?

I've disabled this in the settings, yet it keeps popping up on random pages.
How can I make it stop?

@mib2berlin Hi - no, it does not change it automatically.
However, it randomly pops up at the bottom of the screen asking me if I want to view the page in simplified view. I've disabled this option in my settings.

Yep. 'Simplified View' pop up is forcing even after disabling it in settings. Now it's showing on top not bottom, which is very annoying.
I think it's a chromium thing

@lockrol I'm sure they can - Vivaldi has already made loads of changes and customisations on top of Chromium.

If Firefox can do it...
I know, not chromium based, but still, a very useful feature for small screen tablets.
Btw, what is the flag exactly?

and Stable 5.1.2567.36I usually use the default settings, address bar at top, no tab bar and so forth.
Tested on digitaltrends.com

I would like to read certain pages in simplified view.
There should be a button in the Vivaldi menu for it instead of pop-ups. Didn't bother me earlier but now that it's on top and much larger than before I have to disable it globally.

Thing is, sometimes i don't necessarily want reader right away or had something to do and... you know the rest.

Has there been an update on this? It's really annoying having this pop up all the time on pages I use often, when it's been disabled in the menu.

I have the same issue. This is a really annoying and intrusive "feature". For the rare times when I want simplified mode, I could choose it in the menu. The pop up at the top of the screen lasts way too long, covers up page content, and is completely unnecessary. Please fix!

This has still not been fixed. Is the Vivaldi team aware of this bug?

Agreed, it's extremely irritating! I never want a simplified view, nor do I want to have to keep getting rid of the popup even though it's already switched off.

Some of these pages I visit numerous times a day and the pop-up is irritating.

I test this and if I disable "Simplified view for web pages" the pop up never appears again.
Set this back to default does not work, I had to restart Vivaldi to get the pop up back.Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite
