Will Vivaldi ever become Open Source?
-
Yes, will this ever happen?

So my understanding is that Vivaldi is built on top of Chromium, which is already open source. This means that an open sourcing of Vivaldi would mean open sourcing the skin that Vivaldi provides on top of Chromium.
As for if it will happen: I'm not sure. Would love some input from the developers and team lead at Vivaldi.

The founder has stated that he might think about it, but sees no reason ATM to do it. (No other software project of his, including Opera, was ever open-source.)
However, the engine is open-source, and the technologies used to build the interface are transparent, so it already almost IS open source.
