      I just read this, https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2021/nov/12/you-be-the-judge-should-my-girlfriend-stop-reusing-teabags

Because i have an important real-world non-browser task that i really need to stop procrastinating about & get on with, i thought i'd instead just distract & avoid focus my thoughts by creating this thread. It's not procrastination if i tell myself it's not, right?

      So:

      1. Is per-person tea-bag re-use sensible or despicable?
      2. If sensible, what's the cycle limit?
      3. If sensible, does that apply only to black/green tea made properly [ie, sans-milk], or also ok for those reprehensible degenerates who disgustingly ruin perfectly good tea by putting cow juice in it?
      4. Is this entire issue moot coz the proper answer is that all tea-bag users should be violently B-Arked, given the environmentally better option is only to use loose-leaf tea?

I've always prided myself on my ability to craft questions in an entirely neutral non-judgemental style... πŸ˜‡

      Bonus Question

Have any of you had the pleasure of enjoying tea from a Nutrimatic Drinks Dispenser ? 🐳 🌻

@guigirl Hmmm. I have to assume this is about in-the-cup brewing and not a teabag/teapot question!?

        1. Personal preference of the drinker (doesn't impact anyone else).
        2. Personal preference of the drinker (doesn't impact anyone else).
        3. If you must have milk - REMOVE THE TEA BAG first!!!
          3a Brew tea(bag) in cup/water only
3b Remove tea bag before ANY extras (milk/sugar/spices etc).
        4. You must NEVER commit the ultimate sin and brew loose-leaf tea in a cup (refer opening assumption).

Well, for teapot tea-bags I use bags without string/tags!

Whether those bags should be square, round or pyramid shaped is another thing entirely! I will NOT discuss that area! πŸ€·πŸ»β™‚

                1. Is per-person tea -bag re-use sensible or despicable?

i can’t see myself reusing something i took out of the mug, but otherwise it’s okay i guess.

                1. If sensible, what's the cycle limit?

                i don’t care, it’s not my tea.

sΓ 😁. or, better said – who would use tea bags? you can’t decide the strength very well and it’s weird to keep them in the mug till the end.

no, but you can get similar results if you reuse green tea leaves 4 or 5 times. especially if you always let the water boil and then don’t wait long enough.

I'd say using tea-bag is despicable (thought, tbh, I use them sometimes).

If sensible, what's the cycle limit?

If sensible, does that apply only to black/green tea made properly [ie, sans-milk], or also ok for those reprehensible degenerates who disgustingly ruin perfectly good tea by putting cow juice in it?

Sincerely, I don't think tea-bags are made of good tea, hence it's absolutely ok to put whatever you want (milk, sugar, TNT…) in them.

Is this entire issue moot coz the proper answer is that all tea-bag users should be violently B-Arked, given the environmentally better option is only to use loose-leaf tea?

Loose-leaf tea is far better & the only way to go.
I'm appallingly desperate to have to use tea-bags at work 😱. I sometimes mull to commit suicide 🀭.

                      hello guuigirl and everyone
The microwave took the metal staple out of the tailored bag.
Re-use of previously used tea [bag] is acceptable, but do not expect "tea" out of it.

Please just stop using any type of pre-pack teabag, cuz most of 'em contain toxic regardless of whatever "non-toxic material" or "eco friendly" claims made by the manufacture. The truth is, you don't need the teabag in order to enjoy the tea, & you will get much greater value & better quality taste without the pre-pack teabag.

If u really love tea & maybe want to be eco friendly, then consider going with loose leaf tea, & invest in a proper cup-size tea infuser, or non-plastic strainer. That way, you will drink just the tea without all sort of microplastic, bleach, epichlorohydrin, or "papers" boiling together with the tea. Then, you will create a lot less waste when you are done, or zero waste if you recycle the used tea as fertilizer for your plants. πŸ˜‰

You have to remember where the stuff (tea?) in the bag comes from.
It is the what is swept up from the floor after processing loose leaf tea then put into the tea bag.

@greybeard I put it to you in return that in all likelihood ardent teabaggers [aka, the Horizontallers of the hot beverage world] would not at all ever wish to know or remember this. πŸ™ˆ πŸ™‰ πŸ™Š
