Font Fingerprint Blocker
-
Requirements:
Virtually Undetectable
Has whitelistDoes anyone know of one?
-
@code3 , I think that Trace protect several fingerprints. Better CyDec, but it isn' OpenSource, it gives all data that the site required, but all are random fake values.
Website https://www.cydecplatform.com The extension is free, but not so the full platform, which works also with an desktop app and the browser, also free a limited desktop app to spoof and obfuse system data -
@Catweazle CyDec doesn't have great whitelist support; Trace is also proprietary software and I don't think it protects font fingerprints. (Does it?)
-
@code3 , no, Trace is OpenSource, but has a premium version which permit some stettings in the UI.
https://github.com/jake-cryptic/AbsoluteDoubleTrace/ , other developers use an Donation buton, these use the system with some goodies in the UI and som extra lists in premium version for a few bucks.
There also a Canvas Blocker, which protect from font fingerprint, but Trace also have a Canvas fingerprint blocker -

Could I see the liscense? Cause I think it says “copyright all rights reserved”
I will look at CanvasBlocker. If Trace prevented font fingerprint that would be great but I don’t think it does.
-
@code3 , yes and it surprised me a little. Source code open but with copyright. Something like CC licence?
Anyway, its certainly one of the best extension. -
@catweazle I don’t see an option to prevent font fingerprint in canvas Blocker.
-
@code3 , no problem
-
@catweazle I see, unfortunately that’s not what I want, scrambling the fonts is too detectable and can break sites.
-
@code3 , for what i know, you can spoof the font fingerprints, but this also give you an unique fingerprint, or you can randomize the value, what realy protected privacy.
-
What about uBO No remote fonts feature?
more info: https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/wiki/Per-site-switches#no-remote-fonts
-
@stardust , I think, that is something different from Font Fingerprint
-
but blocking remote fonts eliminates fingerprinting, right?
-
@stardust , try in Browserleaks
-
@stardust I don’t use uBO, I use the inbuilt blocker.
While I do block some remote font sources, the thing I’m worried about is detecting fonts installed on my computer.
