Change in CTRL+1/CTRL+2
-
Greetings, I started using Vivaldi sometime in October, but I ended up switching back to Google Chrome while waiting for the feature to drag a tab out of a window to make a new window, since that's a pretty important feature to me. I'm back to using Vivaldi now since I much prefer Vivaldi at this point and I'm just going to try and be patient and make due with what's available. I think I noticed using CTRL+1/2 to switch tabs is working differently now. As I understood it, before you would switch tabs by the number you chose. So if you were on tab 2, pressing 3 would bring you to tab 5. Was this changed? As I see it now, by pressing CTRL+1 you'll go back 1 tab, and CTRL+2 will bring you to the next tab. This is a great change, in my opinion! I just wanted to make sure whether it was correct or not. Thanks!

Yeah, I figured that CTRL+1 is previous and CTRL+2 is next, as I stated in my original post.
I was asking whether that was a new feature or not, as I don't recall it being that way in October. Now, regarding tab-dragging, you are correct. I mostly just need it because Chrome has it and I'm so used to it. That being said, I'm using Vivaldi right now and find it to be much better than Chrome in basically every other respect, so I'll be using it for the foreseeable future.
I mostly just want the feature because it comes in handy when you have 2 or more monitors. It's less efficient to have to manually make a window and copy&paste the url into the new window. I'm not familiar with the "move tab to window" so please if you could I would love if you would explain it in more detail and how to use it, if it's not too much to ask.
Thanks for the reply.

Vivaldi has never had shortcut keys for the Speed Dial (i.e. Ctrl 1 for Tab 1, Ctrl 2 for Tab 2, etc.), which is one of the reasons I'm still using Opera 12.17 as my default browser. I am hoping that Gwen-Dragon is right that the feature is being added. Until then, you could assign numbers in your Bookmarks for each of the speed dial tabs or some other equally short nickname. For example, use "1" as a nickname for tab one and "2" for tab two. You will then be able to open the website in the first or second tab position by hitting "F2 + 1" and "F2 + 2". The one thing I don't like about this method is that the webpages are opened in new tabs which results, at least for me, in a lot of unwanted tabs being opened.

I think you mis-understood, these are shortcuts for Browser tabs - not speeddial - and they are not "being added", they are already present.
You are correct that shortcuts for Speeddial are not (yet) available, though.

I think that I understood, but inaccurately described what I was trying to say by referring to speed dial shortcuts as "tabs". What I intended to write was as follows:
Vivaldi has never had shortcut keys for the Speed Dial (i.e. Ctrl 1 for Speed Dial shortcut # 1, Ctrl 2 for shortcut # 2, etc.), which is one of the reasons I'm still using Opera 12.17 as my default browser. I am hoping that Gwen-Dragon is right that the feature is being added. I am still an Opera Presto user. The only reason i have not yet fully changed to Vivaldi is becuase i am waiting for speed dial shortcut feature (CTRL+1, CTRL+2 etc).
I noticed that even in the new stable version 1.0, it is not yet available.
Are there any chances to be added? -
