Anyone else hate where most famous websites design is heading?

I just accessed LinkedIn. _Ugh, why so thick bands on top for the menu? Why so scattered and not sectorised? It's ugly (imo).

I'm not sure if it's because they're making all sites tablet/phone friendly, but on laptop browser, they look HORRENDOUS.

Remember old facebook? It looked prettty cool –whether you like the site or not–. It was more streamlined, efficient, aesthetic. Now it's all about big buttons and ridiculous icons.

I mean, look at this feed:

I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of my laptop and buy a top spec iPad because it seems like all sites are now about apps for mobile and not paying much attention to their website design.

@dannii I don't use Linkedin, but some sites work well as web panels.

It seems inevitable that sites will change to suit the majority of users. My web design software is now discontinued because it does not create fluid websites.

@dannii , no, they are real sites and not even the worst. I remember the first page that the singer MIA had a few years ago, which was similar to these two and with animated stripes background, brightly colored. Epileptic attack and headache assured.
Some webmasters seem to have learned from Homer Simpson.

Anyway, Txti are now in my Bookmarks, a good site for creating easy and fast a simple webpage (Markdown edit), similar to the old Pen.io (not longer exist)
