3.5.2115.67 Google refusing login to its services {Vivaldi calendar}
-
I get the following
It's using this
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/87.0.4280.88 Safari/537.36But when I login using Stable: 3.4.2066.106 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/86.0.4240.198 Safari/537.36
Login works

Ad and tracking blockers? Either one might block some cookies from Google.
-
This did not work.
Stable and Snapshot have the same adblockers Snapshot doesn't login, I'm thinking it's Chrome-87.0.4280.88
-
I just kept trying.
4th or 5th time GrumbleMail let me in. -
It finally let me in after changing the user agent to
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0I after logging in I changed the user agent back to
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/87.0.4280.88 Safari/537.36As long as I don't log out it's good.
-
@troypulk Which extension are you using? I have not yet been able to find an extension that provides an option that works.
-
@DarylO
I haven't changed my extensions for logging into google.comIt just started with Snapshot 3.5.2115.67
But I am using AdGuard AdBlocker 3.5.23, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials 2020.10.21, Fair AdBlocker 1.523
User-Agent Switcher 2.0.1.0When I encounter viewing or login issues I cycle them to see which one is doing it, most often it's DuckDuckGo
-
@troypulk said in Google refusing login on Snapshot 3.5.2115.67 (Official Build):
most often it's DuckDuckGo
Yes, earlier reports that DDG privacy modifies the browser user agent!!
-
@troypulk Do you have a link to the extension "User-Agent Switcher 2.0.1.0"? The only source I've found is in part Chinese. I'd rather download it from the Google extensions website but there are many user agent switchers with the same name. Thanks! When you change your user agent, you are using that extension, right?
-
@TbGbe How does DDG modify the browser user agent? I am not seeing an option on its setting page.
-
@Gwen-Dragon Okay, thanks. I've tried the authentication with and without the extension, and I can't make it work. I can't find a browser user agent modifier extension that provides the option that Troy's does.

@DarylO
Hi, I use User Agent Switcher for a long time, may you can use it.Other method is using the developer tools:
You can fake the user agent by opening developers tools (F12). In the 3 vertical dots menu select Network conditions; User agent, uncheck Select Automatically, and then select "Chrome - Windows."
Setting work until you restart Vivaldi.
Cheers, mib
-
@mib2berlin Thanks for the tip, but it didn't work when I tried to add my Google Calendar.
-
@DarylO
It appears that the User-Agent Switcher I'm using is no longer in the chrome extension store.I'm sure any User-Agent Switcher will work. try a few and see.
-
@troypulk I have, and I've even used the developer tools method outlined above, and nothing works for the Google authentication.
-
@DarylO
It worked for me using this user agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0Have you tried this one?
-
@troypulk No, I can't. Firefox/40.0 doesn't show up as an option in any of the modifier extensions that I've used. I've also tried a custom modification using the developer method, but it doesn't work, either.
-
@Gwen-Dragon Yes. I'm trying to authorise it in Vivaldi Settings.
-
@Gwen-Dragon I did see that but that option is not available to me as I have Two-Step Verification enabled, and the app password option doesn't work.
-
@Gwen-Dragon How would you explain that Troy was able to get it to work with a user agent modifier?
