Microphone can not be activated at Jitsi (Debian 10, XFCE4)
-
I heard about Vivaldi today and thought i give it a chance.
My system is Debian 10.
Vivaldi 3.2.1967.41After opening a jitsi link, vivaldi asks for permissions.
After granting, i see my video, but microfone is muted.
Klicking to unmute brings the message:"Fehler beim Zugriff auf das Mikrofon
Das Mikrofon kann aus unbekannten Grund nicht verwendet werden."Meaning:
"Error accessing the microphone
The microphone cannot be used for unknown reason."It works fine with Chromium
modedit split from Windows forum https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/45015/meet-jit-si-with-vivaldi-camera-and-microphone-permissions/

Which mixer do you mean?
At the camera, there is the triangle active,
but not at the microfone.I use XFCE4

@Gwen-Dragon said in Microphone can not be activated at Jitsi (Debian 10, XFCE4):
@icho40 Do you get any error messages related to audio in syslog and in Shell after starting Vivaldi and hitting Mic button in Jitsi?
No
Lacking XFCE, I do not know how it controls the volume of your audio devices.
It's called Pavucontrol, a control panel for pulse audio
Please, wait until a forum user can help you with XFCE.
Will do

I had the similar problem once with chromium.
i could solve it by switching in preferences->microphone-> from "default" to "intern analog stereo".
I found this in vivaldi, but it did not help. -
You can test vivaldi at https://test.webrtc.org/, or at a site like https://mictests.com/

@paul1149
At https://mictests.com/ micro is working,
at https://test.webrtc.org/ i had to change settings from "Standardeinstellungen" to "intern audio analog stereo".
Now it's working on both these sites, but not on meet.ffmuc.net.
There it says: "Berechtigung nicht erteilt" although i set settings for microphone in vivaldi on "allow". -
