4 things from former opera user
-
Hi I recently found out of Vivaldi since beta came out. It is great since i was Opera user and i loved their features and most of them are available in Vivaldi. And of course i love a design of this browser. I would like to point out 4 things that could be improved, which were in my opinion better in old opera: 1) Rightclick + scroll feature is available like in the old Opera with is great, super useful, but scrolling with wheel could be faster, like one is one tab back, now its slow around 1 second to change one tab back so if i want to go 5 tab back i need wait 5s. 2)panel toggle now is to thick for me, it should save space. Now it has 9 pixels wide, in Opera it had 4 pixels. It would be nice to at least had choice between thicker or slimmer. Now it's to thick and i don't use it. 3)this search box at right, when i press it to type in should show available searchengines like in opera. Now if I want for example search something in wikipedia i have to: 1)type word 2)click magnifier icon and then 3)wiki search, in opera i had to only click once (without second point). 4)When i select text and right click it i can only search for in default search engine, opera had feature to search in different defined search engines. I hope it could be helpful not only annoying that I'm pointing out those sometimes ridiculously small details to polish them to get perfect browser. Thanks again for great work and great real unfriendly browser! Attachments:

I mainly miss the bookmark management that I had in opera. And the F12 fast menu so you could turn off javascript. This will be harder in vivaldi as they use javascript for the interface AFAIK. But can we have this kind of secure browsing mode like in opera 12 where you could switch all the misery off and just browse the declarative web?

Welcome to the forum, pioun!
If you don't use this toggle, you can switch it off in the settings. Setings - Panel - untick the Show Panel ToggleHi!
Yes i know that i can hide panel toggle which is set by default, but i was very happy to find this toggle feature like in the O. But in the O. this toggle bar was nearly invisible and in V. is much wider so it is more noticeable and save less space. That's why i don't use it now. Sure it isn't as that big but if it was e.g 2 times thicker i think even less people would use it, and it is not it's purpose for making it thicker than it O. Only advantage of thicker bar i can see is when you don't have maximized window and you don't have edge of a screen that stopping cursor, it is easier to aim.Best regards, pioun

Just hide the panel toolbar and toggle, Use shortcuts to open the panels.
I customised mine to be easy to remember, just as I did in Opera 12.17.
[ul]
- F4 = Show Panel Toolbar
- Ctrl 1 = Bookmarks
- Ctrl 2 = Mail (WIR)
- Ctrl 3 = Contacts (WIR)
- Ctrl 4 = Downloads
- Ctrl 5 = Notes
- Ctrl 6 = Web Panel 1
- Ctrl 7 = Web Panel 2, etc.
[/ul]

4)When i select text and right click it i can only search for in default search engine, opera had feature to search in different defined search engines.
This one is very important to me as well, I usually have "search engines" that are not really searching anything, but are URLs that take me somewhere I want. Like a bug tracker, I select the ID of the bug and "search" for it with that engine and presto, I'm there.

Context Menu Search
Multi Search
