Hi,

Does anyone know how to fix a "Recovery Partition not found" error?

Samsung QX411
Cloned with AOMEI backUp.
Partition Type ID renamed to 0x27.

Now,
F4 for Recovery doesn't work.
Activating the partition gave a C:/... not found.

Has anyone faced similar situation?
Anyone cloned with a Recovery and still working? Which app did you used?
Researching after that, I've seen a Samsung Tool to clone respecting the Recovery.

|- First time I've used AOMEI , and did default copy instead of Sector by sector, maybe the reason -.

I want to wait for another HDD to do new tests.
Copied MBR from old HDD but didn't applied on the first cloned HDD yet.

It seems that running SRSX Admin tool recreates the partition, but has to be done on a clean HDD and I want to avoid it.

Had/could recover Data partition with MiniTool PR. party

I would like to repoint and learn how to do it.

@Zalex108 Do you know why you even need the recovery function? My experience it doesn't work anyway when you really need it...

I do weekly "System" type backups using Aomei as well, it's a great product. It backs up the necessary to restore the system and boot drive. I've used it for recovery several times when I managed to mess things up, and it works fine.

A couple of things:

Why is the recovery part so large? It should usually be around 500MB by default.

Why the Unallocated space? You could just as well merge that into the Data part.

Here's how the system drive looks for me:

I've never used the Windows recovery system, I don't trust it, and would rather rely on a proper partition backup. I've turned off the making of restore points, they just take up unnecessary space. That's also why I try to keep my C: drive as small as possible and install all software on D:, to keep backup data to a minimum.

Clean System in few minutes.
Just needing to update drivers and add some tweaks - .Reg | .Bat -.

Usually used to use Acronis, knew AOMEI few time ago and decided to test it.
Seems nice but for that case it that needs something else, or to use Sector by Sector, or a specific Samsung tool.

I use System Restore + Restore Point Creation, +/- 3 / 7Gb, useful, fast and easy on the same drive.
Always fine.

External backups, now just for Data, when I receive a new HDD I'll retake the system's and play with AOMEI.

I do .Reg backups and use PortableApps from many sources, restart again even from zero is mostly easy and just apply the most useful.

I've had ( * ) no problems, just needed resets because punctual slowness after messing too much, or tired from W8, 8.1, 10... so System Restore has been mostly enough.
(*) Just one time had to restore because no booting, had no tools and no time, even now I don't understand which was the reason.

I'll add OEM Recovery Partition.

The clone came from 750Gb, the unallocated it's the proportional part.
I still have to decide what to do, enlarge Data, use it to test Linux, for AOMEI One Key Recovery (did you used?), SWAP... or for everything [232Gb].

On my side, mostly System Restore, at some point recover the StartUp, but rarely.

I also use D:/ for programs - Portables -.
C:/ Has System, OEM and very few custom Apps [+/-70Gb used].
D:/ 41Gb for PortableApps, including Vivaldi with 3Gb and User Data folders.

I'll plan to use AOMEI to extract a VirtualMachine and move it to a HDD, we'll see what happens xD

As for actually fixing your original issue I have no clue - try the link posted by GwenDragon, it seems valid. My post was just general observations on your setup.

You should try the Partition Assistant from Aomei too, it offers some extra features the regular Disk Management doesn't. Well worth paying for the Pro version if you do a lot of partition stuff.

If I may ask; how do you get the MMC into dark mode? That looks nice.

So I would keep testing.

This has Type ID modifying options.
Even has company's default available.
I used to back up the Recovery some months ago, but didn't tested, just backed up on another disk.

If I may ask; how do you get the MMC into dark mode? That looks nice.

FIXED!!

Finally managed how to fix it.

Create 2 partitions between Data and Recovery, can be empty but needs to be Formatted.

Then,
Access the Samsung Recovery partition from Windows Explorer and run RecoverySettings5.exe

WinClon > Admin > Setup > Tools > RecoverySettings5.exe

Now everything on Recovery works as expected:

Fn+F4 Recovery
Recovery app from Windows.

Let's try to resolve your concern. Can you check if the Recovery Partition is visible on your File Explorer?

If yes, please perform the following steps:

Go to DiskManagementTool.
Right click on the Recovery Partition, then select ChangeDriveLetterandPaths.
Click the Remove button and click OK.
Restart the computer and try to perform a Refresh once again.
Let us know if the issue is still persists.
