It's my very poor English
Your English isn't so poor. It is fully understandable.
By the way, there are no native English speakers in that thread, bar, perhaps, @i_ri . -

The problem is opposite: I use words easy to understand because I don't know any other.
-
I_ri and Paranoid are the most frequent Native Americans intervening with me, perhaps with us, in this forum.
-
@potmeklecbohdan I can say that I plead guilty like you :face_with_open_mouth_cold_sweat:

I already have received praise here for "my" English from both US and UK native speakers (just one of each),
In the beginning, I also received reprimands.
Self-criticizing, I always say that "my" English is just "tol-lol", but most of the time enough to make me understood and understand. Enough for me, though If I could I would try
do my best.improve within my best.My strength is my performance on my own language, where, without fake modesty, I judge myself above average. This allows me a correspondent return in quality from the on line translator (google) whose usage I confess shamelessly.
-
@JoaBravo When reading the structure of the sentences you use in English, I do believe you can be above average in your own language!
I feel that Latin flavour in it. -
@Para-Noid - I have noticed you have taken a half short absence...

I am even more opposite. I use words that are easy to understand because I don't know how to spell the other kind.
-
@JoaBravo Nope. I'm fine. I check in on a daily basis. I don't log-in each time nor do I post.
I'm not too sure about the "notable" tag though. There are times I do talk a lot without saying anything. -
But there are others where you say half a word and means a world size

Taking profit of the opportunity. I am not an user, "tout au contraire". But sometimes a synthesis may be a miracle.
The absolutely insurpassable for ever I judge to be:
"Ama a Deus sobre todas as coisas e ao prΓ³ximo como a ti mesmo. AΓ estΓ£o toda a Lei e todos os profetas."
"Love God above all things, and your next as yourself. There is all the Law and all the prophets".
If we incorporated this Teaching soon after read, we would be dispensed to read and discuss all the Bible. And all the universe which comes from that: theologians, unbelievers, conflicts, Himalayas (yes, plural) of books and writings and still all the monstrosity which follow them.
Which prevents our possibility of the immediate spiritual Illumination and Freedom. -

@pafflick who might be on holidays since a few weeks
That was the case indeed. Although I returned last week, I had so many things to sort out (in both my job & personal life) that I barely had the time to visit the forums (until now). I've managed to catch up with the most important updates and moderator's chatroom so that I don't fall behind. Hopefully, I'll be able to get involved here, as much as my schedule allows me to.
BTW. Since the language issue was raised here, I want to share a picture that I use to describe my English skills. This summer I realized that it's quite accurate in my case. I thought that my English was good enough, but whenever I had to talk to someone, I just felt embarrassed - yes, I am THAT bad at speaking...
-
@pafflick (I'm spying you )
Welcome back! I hope you enjoyed your holiday.
I love, really love the picture you've used to illustrate your English skills. Simply brilliant! It totally applies to me as well.

I have a gift for talking to the animal kingdom, especially dogs.
The mare told me that you changed the sequential order from "listening" and "writing". It's her opinion ... -

On the other hand, I received a title about "my" English: Yoda style. From an especial user. Who gave it did not trust me to appreciate it. He must remember But the reality is that I had quite fun about it. "Gostei muito".

Another digression on this already long bifurcation, I can't let to come to that, when the subject is pronunciation. I repeat Quinca71 who once already placed this excerpt on these forums. Jim Jarmusch, fantastic, and curiously funny - for my way of feeling,
-
@JoaBravo Roberto Benigni, Jim Jarmusch! Nice!
It reminds me that scene of a later movie "Coffee and Cigarettes" (from Jim Jarmusch as well with, of course, Roberto Benigni). -

That I have "said" is for users.
"native US English-speakers" (thanks @Ayespy)
As for members the most helpful and neighborly in the sense of courteous while being comfortable, among others, was @ayespy when I "used to be" Quinca71.
Now he made his debut in favor of JoaBravo, thanks to the gods."Native Uk", @Pesala , among other very important ones.
"Non native"
still among members, I feel me happy when @Gwen-Dragon comes into the scene. Then, I know I am counting on the personified sincerity.
-
"Native Americans." This is a term we in the US reserve for members of indigenous tribes. Which I guess makes me a native-born USian. Or a native US English-speaker.
-
@JoaBravo You know I've always had a soft spot for you...
