Can't log on to my router

When I try to log on to my router good old google won't let me because it is "not secure". I've tried to eliminate everything google from my life but, it is apparently impossible. Anyway, I'm hoping somebody can tell me how to get around this. I tried adding an "s" to the url but then I get "This site can’t be reached 192.168.1.1 refused to connect."

On the bottom of the certificate error messages there's always a button on the right-side and a "link" on the left. You press this link that should read "Advanced", or something similar; it will have a link to proceed accessing the site ignoring the certificate problem.

Needless to say you should not do that for normal sites.

I don't know what google has to do with accessing your router ?
You don't put the IP address in an internet search engine, you put it in the address bar of whatever browser you are using.
It is likely your router does not use a certificate for HTTPS logins.
Adding an "s" will fail.

I login to my router with http://192.168.1.1 using Vivaldi just fine.

Your's isn't perchance a NetComm, is it? They don't use the otherwise common http://192.168.1.1, but instead use http://192.168.20.1/.

My previous TP-Link worked fine from V/V-SS with the former, whereas my current NetComm works fine from V/V-SS with the latter. V/V-SS remembers the user & password ok for the latter, but oddly not the former.

Wrt modem https specifically, i use this Flag:

Allow invalid certificates for resources loaded from localhost.
Allows requests to localhost over HTTPS even when an invalid certificate is presented. – Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, Android

However i gave up using https as my preferred method, & nowadays use simply http, coz oddly V/V-SS refuses to remember the user & password with my NetComm if i use https. Being a lazy cow, i find the "benefit" of modem ethernet access via https to be insufficient to motivate me to launch & unlock KeePassXC just for this one lousy thing.

Vivaldi breaks login to Netgear Router. Problem started for me just recently. Vivaldi started throwing me in to Netgear Password Recovery facility instead of presenting the login page.

Obscure experimental setting must be disabled in Vivaldi. This worked for me on Vivaldi:

1. Paste chrome://flags/#http-auth-committed-interstitials into a Google Chrome Browser
2. Click the down arrow to change from Default or Enabled to Disabled

Surprised not to find more posts about this problem.
