Email client still missing so how to install Opera 12 in Ubuntu?
-
since it is very long ago that an email client was promised and nothing happened I am still using old Opera 12 M2 for my daily mail business. Unfortunately Opera 12 does not install in Ubuntu 18.04 anymore because of dependency problems. Does anybody know a work around?

I am still using Opera 12.18 for my email. Have you tried installing the standalone email client?

@Pesala where can I find it?

There was an internal preview, which unfortunately anyone would not be allowed to share.

@sombreroz I'm on Linux Mint 19 (which uses 18.04). There are two workarounds that worked for me.
One way was to remove the dependency from the Opera 12 .deb file.
I think the better way is instead of using the .deb file, use the tar.xz file. Extract opera-12.16-1860.x86_64.linux.tar.xz and run Opera 12 that way.

@Gwen-Dragon -f install does not help. Gstreamer0.10 package is missing in Unbuntu 18.04.

@ugly using the tar.xz file works as it includes all gstreamer components! Thanks for that tip
