Windows 10 October Update Problems Wiped Docs Plus Intel Driver Warning
Don't be in too much of a hurry to get this update!
-
This is related to a group policy rule (and it's actually a feature, not a bug), won't affect the majority of the user base.

Win 10 update was seamless for me.
From the initial article it looks as though there's an intel driver issue, and I've had many a problem with intel int he past, so it's good to see Microsoft are actively blocking / warning against it.
Also, as per the article, my Documents location is not integrated with onedrive, and I didn't lose any files, so this seems to be an extreme edge case.

Are you shure? Or is this more a guess?
Ans the question is: who installed a policy deleting complete user profile folders. Please give us some links to deeper information of the issue.
I'm 100% sure, as this bug had already been reported to Microsoft, and Group Policies are not installed.
They hidden features and settings for admins, that let you do almost anything on Windows. One of the settings, lets you clear the User Profile on a schedule.
The policy gets enabled and set to 1 day on PCs with the issue, but only a few PCs went in with the issue where I work.

Yes, i know, as Administrator rights and ebaled policies you can do everything you like.
But if such policy deletes user data, that is the fault of a dumb Administrator of the PCs.
This "Delete profile after XXX days" policy is never-ever set by Default on a 1803.The policy gets enabled and set to 1 day on PCs with the issue, but only a few PCs went in with the issue where I work.
You say the Windows update did this crap!? What a hell.
I cannot say what causes the policy to get enabled, I can just say that all the PCs with the issue have the policy enabled with 1 day of expiration.
Thankfully very few machines had this problem, Microsoft still stopped the roll-out of the Upgrade to avoid people from losing important files.
