Out of curiosity, how did you discover Vivaldi? If I remember correctly I was searching for which session management addons are already stable in FF57+ with the new WebExtensions (currently still none are stable enough). And was reading through computer forums like computerbase.de , heise.de golem.de etc. were alternatives to Firefox were discussed.
Mentioned competitors were Palemoon, Waterfox, Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Opera Browser and Vivaldi.
I tried them all out, only Microsoft Edge could deliver the beloved tab behaviour, where tabs don't shrink to unusable width and the tab bar can scroll like Firefox. The tabs also shrink but not as much so you can still click them fine, and hey scroll. But other than that Edge feels not complete and does not have tab session addons to backup current sessions. So the browser that came closest to Firefox was Vivaldi, only the Tab-Minimum-Width is still missing to use it. (not sure if I like tab stacking, although it seems to be like the old FF feature of tab groups (Panorama))

Do you know that you can put the tabs on either side of Vivaldi? If you put them to the right or to the left sibe, the width can be adjusted to your liking

You mean the vertical tabs?
Yeah, I could get used to that, but then you still have the URL bar on top an the tabs on the side, as instead directly above each other. Unless the URL bar would also be vertical on the side. -
@4seasonsvivaldi Since you're not using the Window Title bar to hold the tabs, you could simply disable the tab bar and use the Window Panel instead. Vertical Tabs and a horizontal address bar are not a problem. On a landscape monitor like yours, vertical space is more valuable than horizontal space.
The Quick Commands dialogue (F2) is also a good way to manage loads of tabs.

Tab stacking, apart from saving space, has the advantage of being able to also see several web pages at once in mosaic in the window. Very useful, if for example you want to compare something or copy something from one page to another. -
@4seasonsvivaldi
The thing you opened at the right side is the windowview tabs to the side are more like this:You can make them switch in Settings --> Tabs --> select a "tab Bar Position" you like
You could get rid of the addressbar at all Settings --> Address Bar --> untick "Show Address Bar" and use the quick command menu instead which is accessible via "F2".
Although I like the idea of a vertical address bar where you type vertical ^^

@4seasonsvivaldi Excellent! We're glad that Vivaldi came out on top.
An alternative to moving the Tab bar's location would be to use the Window Panel, when the tab bar gets too crowded.

Ok, interesting.
So F2 acts as a search mask for open tabs but also as an URL bar for the currently selected/open tab?!Yeah tabs on the left side for example is also a good option. But what I don't like with tabs on the side, same for the window paneel, if you use pinned tabs and want to quicky access a pinned tab but currently view the last tab you have to scroll upwards to the first tab so to say.
The pinned tabs are not set apart from the other tabs optically and functionally.

I admit it is not perfect - there sure is work to do but you can bypass a lot of things like in this case just press "Ctrl + 1" to jump to the first tab.
You just might want to remember "Ctrl + F1" as this opens the keyboard cheat sheet to show you what is possible

They are but only to a certain amount of tabs in the tab bar : )
