Whats your dream car?
-
My dream car is any car that works and gets me from point a to point b. I'm not a car person though lol
-
My Dreamcar has a lot of HP, it's big and chauffeured and it puts Line 8 above the windshield.
-
@Catweazle, what do you mean by "it puts Line 8 above the windshield"? I don't get the reference, so you've piqued my interest.

The Cybertruck

@Pesala, and illegal in the EU, because of dangerous for pedestrians and passengers. Apart the high weight need a truck license in the EU

@Catweazle The jury is still out on that one.
For the occupants, the car’s structure needs to collapse in order to dissipate energy. For pedestrians, the vehicle must cushion the blow in the event of an impact.
The Cybertruck does have collapsing structures in the front casting to dissipate energy. The key points of pedestrian safety are the bonnet height and the velocity at impact. Plenty of other trucks and SUVs have a higher, flatter front that is more dangerous to pedestrians than the Cybertruck. Tesla cars have superior Automatic Braking Systems that prevent impact or reduce its speed.
The truck is listed on the UK Tesla website, but no one understands why, as it is dubious that it will ever be released in the UK / European market. Anyway, it will be years before the demand in the US is fulfilled.
-
Yes , SUV have a higher front, but the front of the Cybertruck cut them in half. The crush test has shown that the collapsing front structure is too resistent to dissipate enough energy, even on slower speed the airbags can't protect the passengers.. That mean, that the Cybertruck, must be redisigned from scratch before it can be selled in the EU. No EU norm permit this design with cutting edge, design apart which has caused even memes.
-
@Catweazle Do you really imagine that the Cybertruck has not been through all the required crash tests to be certified on US roads?

The fundamental principle behind downsizing is that complete freedom can only be achieved when you rid yourself of most possessions, keeping only the bare necessities. The less clutter, the more intense the feeling of freedom.
