@iqaluit, I use an Imagesharer (vgy.me), uploading there an Image gives me the URL. In the Forum click on the image icon and paste there this URL
or direct the Markdown code which is also in the list for the image.
Alternatively use the Markdown code to insert an image

@Ryszard, because education. Hotlinking from a webside is stealing bandwith from this website, because you are using this website as host, inserting the image in another site, still pointing to its source.
Apart if the website delete why ever the image, it also dissappear in the other site where you had linked it (some sites even replace the image with advice or even unpleasant images).
Because this, you can download the image and from there upload it to the site you want, ore use an screenshot (copy) of this image to host it by yourself in a dedicated host.
I use ShareX to do it which upload the image direct to, in my case, vgy.me, and the URL in the clipboard, so I can paste it direct here or elsewhere.
Nowadays Bandwith a generally high speed is not as big a problem as some years before, but hotlinking is still like putting a bypass on the neighbor's ADSL cable.
It's not nice, if you have a website with images and someone hotlink this images in another site with the URL of your website.

You have not convinced me.
The images I used in this message are of my own making, I did not upload them to the photo sharing site because I intended them for publication on this forum only and therefore saved them here.
Images that I add, for example, in this thread do not belong to me, and by inserting the direct address to the image here I indicate “this is not my image” and leave it in complete possession of the owner. Yes he can delete it at any time or change it because it is his.
If the owner of the site does not wish to hotlink then simply block such a possibility. If he does not block and even puts a “Share / Embed” link at his site then, in my opinion, he is interested in links such as this one:

@Ryszard, yes, but this is uploading your own image from your disk, it's not the same as posting the copied image URL from another website, this is the meaning from Hotlinking, not uploading own images. You can here post also screenshots made by the Vivaldi screenshot tool, because this is making, as said, a Photo of an Photo and not the image with its original URL, also not hotlinking it.
I also use Images from my disk or upload an image from the web with right click and the ShareX extension to share it, that isn't the problem. -
