Thinking about Dead Can Dance - who can forget the very powerful part of Baraka:
Dead Can Dance - The Host of Seraphim
This place has not gotten any better since then.

@Pathduck Got me thinking about one of the groups I like, Dance with the Dead, a generally more metal influenced synthwave.
These are my top 3 played songs from them according to my music player:
Banshee
A New Fear
Dressed to Kill

Dead Can Dance - The Host of SeraphimAlso got me to remember another odd movie that somehow made it into my family's movie collection, Koyaanisqatsi. My main memory of it is the chanting of Koyaanisqatsi (and also strangely some shirtless guy in a window 1:12:21), so I say it still fits in this thread
Edit after research: Guess I wasn't too far off.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baraka_(film)#:~:text=The film is often compared to Koyaanisqatsi :"Baraka is a 1992 American non-narrative documentary film directed by Ron Fricke. The film is often compared to Koyaanisqatsi, the first of the Qatsi films by Godfrey Reggio for which Fricke served as cinematographer."

@Pathduck, Lisa Gerrard's voice is certainly unique, although she always improvises the lyrics in a fantasy language

Oh yes great movie. The ending with the falling rocket, the chanting and that wonderful organ always seems to move me deeply. For me it seems to symbolise man's hubris and vanity in thinking we can reach the stars. Truly a life out of balance.
Both films have very striking footage from the places around where you live as well
One more, the footage here is from Baraka as well I believe:
